Well, what a great afternoon! the sun really does help.

Called in at St Fagan's on the way to the airport and saw some interesting fabric things in the Craft shop. There is absolutely no way i am going to pay £6 for 2 spice-filled coasters, but I am sure i can make them for a lot less!
I am going to invest some of the school holiday time in making Christmas presents: this year people are getting "home made hampers"... and this year it WILL happen. All I have to do is find the baskets I bought last year!

My lavender is growing beautifully and will be ready to pick soon, so covered hangers with sachets are a possibility, also wheat and lavender joint warmers. I am sure I have a 'recipe' for oatmeal and lavender bath soak too.

The craft shop also had rag rugs - about 12" square - with an embroidered centre, so I shall look for my latch hook!

Isn't it typical, I get excited about some good ideas two days before I have to go back to work!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

I hope so! Fingers crossed! Lets just say we are giving it some very serious thought, We really miss having a dog around, it will have to be a little one though as we don't think Holly our tortie cat is going to be very happy! She has ruled the roost since we lost our Springer Spaniel two years ago!

    Evening all,

Just had another lazy day, but very satisfying...paid off our credit union loans and are now debt free  Then we went to B & Q and bought a new gazebo and water feature, the latter is for OH's Japanese garden if he ever finishes it! I am sure that to-morrow I will be in so much shock that we will be living out of the garden and storecupboards for months!

It was actually quite a pleasant day here today, perhaps that's why I had such a rush of blood to the head, we did have shower and weather forecast is not good for at least first half of next week...according to weather man 8Th June was last completely dry day we had.

We had homemade pizza for tea, parbaked the bases first and they turned out very well, will do it that way in future I think as they were nice and crisp homemade is not easily beaten in my opinion.

Going to mooch for the night as I'm just feeling lazy.

Hugs to all who need or want one and congratulations to all who are celebrating

    Evening all!

Not done much today-my first Saturday off in ages! Cleaned the bathroom and it's now sparkling! Erm, what else???

Oh yes, I also wrote a couple of letters as my penpal pile was getting a bit tall! Are there any other penpalling OSers around? I remember there was a thread a while back about it, but I can't find it now!

I also have made some bread (in the BM) and watched 'The Fox and the Hound' on DVD, I loved that when I was younger! Tomorrow I'm back to work, yuck! Have a day off on Monday and OH will be off work for the week, so it's going to be full of DIY craziness I'm sure! Eek.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and don't forget there are hugs if you need/want xx

    Evening All

Had a good day out, went to pick up my friend, DH had to take a hammer a hang a clock for her, she is blind so struggles with the little jobs, but is a really good friend, who we both have a laugh with, and she wanted to take us both out for a meal to celebrate our retirement. Decided to try to find a place we found by accident last October and had a good meal, near Grimsby/Cleethorpes.
    http://www.hallfarmrestaurant.co.uk/#http://www.hallfarmrestaurant.co.uk#
Managed to find it which wasn't bad as we had forgot the name/village and were travelling in the opposite direction. Managed to find it, but it was closed this lunchtime, why we don't know but it should have been open, (I have emailed them to find out!) so decided to go into Cleethorpes and have fish and chips, not quite the same but enjoyable anyway, short walk round IN THE SUNSHINE, no coats just a cardigan on it was nice.

Just got back and not ready to eat again yet, and I took most of the batter off, left the majority of my chips:A won't help the weight though, but I did start an excel spreadsheet this morning with the date and weight so I can try to start again, considering measuring various parts also to help if I do change shape but the weight doesnt tel me much. Might keep my motivation going.

Elona sorry to be rude, but how come your OH is being fed, and as for the bap I just know where it would have been inserted, without the butter so not to aid the process! Sorry but I do not feel it is acceptable to criticise. I've never been small, but do have success to a degree at times, and my DH is always complimentary when it happens, but never criticises inbetween, in fact he is just the other way, as he knows I eat less carbs than him and he never gains an ounce!

    Welcome Ellie.

The reason he is still being fed (and not intravenously) is that he added
he was only saying it because he was worried I would be really ill and he wanted me to be around for the next 25 years at least.

    Probably as nuisance value! lol!

His heart is in the right place (at least it is so far!)

Glad to hear it Elona, I luckily dont have a medical problem but need to get down to 800 calories to lose weight which is pretty dire! Plus my head has to be well and truly in it and have some success quickly to keep me going, last few times the results have been so minimal for the effort, I am currently on a "s$d it" diet and just eating normally.:o

By the way to the Jodi Picoult fans, the Book Club has quite a few of hers in at £3
    http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CatalogSearchResultView?storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=100&pageSize=10&beginIndex=0&searchScope=SimpleSearch&resultType=2&resultCatEntryType=1&catgrpSchemaType=2&vipStatus=&fromPage=basicSearch&searchTerm=Jodi+Picoult&submit.x=8&submit.y=5

Hope it helps, I had an email from them today, so just spotted it.

Elona, I would still tell him he upset you!

Well, the concert was fab, it was over 2hours long. Started late and finished just about 10:25 or so. amazing singing - if you get a chance DO go see the 'Maedival Baebes'. Too bad there were 3 twits in front of me who ate, talked etc. during the singing. ONe woman did tell them to be quiet, but they didn't stop. I thought abput wacking them with my crutches but was too polite. Should I have? LOL

Anyway, off to bed soon, OH still isnt' feeling well.

haribo - if Bangor was your old stomping ground where's your new one ?

queenie - thanks for the good wishes, i have it all in perspective a bit more today, the hormones haven't popped up yet this evening. Just need to stay sane! .... and I just got to your second post and can't believe how much you got done!!!

twink - yes weather permitting we are planning to go out most days. Fingers crossed it isn't too wet, Mum's is near a great beach, some brill parks and lovely NT places.

penelope penguin - good luck with your Race For Life, I did it last year, thoroughly enjoyed myself, it was a great day :)

ellie - welcome! I am a relative newbie, everyone has been so lovely and welcoming :) Hope your back's recovery progresses

anniebl - what presents did you get for the staff then ? Would be v interested to see what you got for your £20 if you don't mind me asking

elona - sorry you ended up having a bawl, hope it helped a bit

I won't post the minte details of my day as I put them on the flylady thread, but I did have my hair cut and coloured. So funny. My hairdresser is my friend and comes to the house to do it (I still pay its not for free). OH tooks kids out shopping and when they cam back in I was sitting there with those foil things in as the colour was still taking. DS (4) comes in and says "Mummy, your hair looks really nice" :rotfl: Obviously OH assumed it would be finished and he primed DS to say it :D

All these posts are really making me want to go and see Harry Potter. am going to try and see if we can organise a babysitter when back off on hols so we can see it, haven't been to the cinema in about 9 months - am 6 months pregnant and the first 5 months were absolute hell of vomiting day and night. And now too tired most evenings :rotfl:

After my rant about OH the other day, he has been fab today:D :D He got up and got brekkie for kids, took them out (while I had hair done) and returned library books and did some shopping, and got cash out for me to pay hairdresser. He made our lunch and cleared up afterwards, he did a load of jobs upstairs for DD new bedroom, including hoovering up after himself
He put DS to bed then went downstairs and cleared up dinner things including washing the stuff that didn't fit in the dishwasher. He never ever washes dishes!! So something has clicked with him. Thank goodness.

So all in all a good day. Hoping to get more jkobs for DD new bedroom done tomorrow, and maybe some batch cooking for freezer for early-baby days.

Off to bed now and to glug some gavoscon - heartbirn - oh the joys of pregnancy ;)
