I'm always intrigued by this forum, there's many peeps who really try to help others and then there are the keyboard commandos on a mission who are only interested in arguing their petty obsessions. if you knew their ebay ID's you could block them because they are part the reason that ebay is going down the toilet....

I've said it before if you buy from a website and the price & postage/packing is acceptable you'll pay and be happy.. apply the same prices/post/packing to ebay and there is always a commando to get self righteous and dink you..

some peeps really need to get a life.....

Ha ha, I deleted the bit that said please give me your ID as I want to add you to my BBL.

Summed it all up nicely, thanks.

Yes they can, stop being a kn ob and making yourself look silly.

You clearly know squat about eBay and as it is now.

All all this cannot add onto postage prices.... you do know businesses have to add VAT onto your 'stamp price' and the packing price, right??

And yes, buyer was very happy until he received it. Happy enough to pay for it. Sellers mistake was to have a label with the postage price on. Buyer was clearly stupid enough to pay £12 in the first place though - especially when they knew what they were getting and how big it was.

As I say, thank god for my licence number!!

No they cannot not, It's against there rules.

So the OP is now stupid? Well the seller seems the stupid one, as they refunded that 'happy buyer'

Oh sorry, the point where you said you can charge what you like? And it's not open to interpretation. Against our rules, is pretty much to the point

    Who is policing these 'rules'?

Are those the same rules that say a bid is legally binding? And yet give buyers the option to bid and never pay? And as a seller you cannot block those sellers unless they do this more than 4 times?

    Ohhhh, those rules. I see.

I can quote a ton of 'rules' from those pages that mean absolutely squat.

Isn't it your bedtime by now?

Ho hum: business related fees such as, employee wages or mileage - Private sellers are not businesses.

The seller refunded the buyer to shut him up. Simples. We all do it from time to time. Well, I never have as I do not have that problem, but a lot of people do. Is he happy now.

Excessive postage - who deems the charge excessive?? When you print from Paypal you can actually choose not to hide the postage price so the buyer never knows how much it costs. So eBay and Paypal know are well aware what is going on and are now taking 10% of the charges which pretty much ever sell on that site is adding to their postage amounts are selling price.

But you are not allowed to do this according to the rules. Apparently.

    Next.

PS. You do know that 'free postage' is never 'free', right? They charge free postage so that the buyer cannot see what they are being charged. With god reason it seems.

You brought up businesses? I found it for you

And free postage is completely different. The buyer knows where the money is going. That's fair enough. The buyer is making that choice. However, if your going to charge postage, your NOT agreeing for the seller to pocket the money. It's for postage and packing ONLY, not to line the sellers pockets and pay there fees etc. Which is against eBay rules. So that's irrelevant.
