I have just got off the phone to Barclaycard to arrange a late payment marker to be removed from my file from 2012, which was relatively easy and successful so I am now wondering whether to take on Lloyds for an AP marker.

Long story short:
- went abroad and switched a minor transaction which took me over a/c limit (forgot there was no o/d).
- Fees applied, fees applied again as was out of country for 3+months.
- When returned home, went into branch cap in hand, lady behind the desk in branch offered to let me pay back at £70 a month (I think).
- Paid this from October 2008 - January 2010.

Should I attempt to get this removed? At the time the lady made it out like they were doing me a favour letting me pay it back and at NO TIME told me about the consequences of an 'arrangement to pay'. I thought actually at the time the bank were being really nice about it all - giving me time to pay back THEIR charges.

Naivety at its best. :rotfl:

Anyway, should I attempt to get these markers removed? I don't have account numbers etc though.

Thanks in advance.

* Asking again just in case anyone has any good ideas.
Trying to clean up credit file - have arranged with Barclaycard to remove a late payment marker from 2012 so I'm delighted.

Wondering if AP marker should be removed from Lloyds - ran from October 2008 to January 2010, previous to which shows:

July - 1
August - 2
September - 3

Anyone have any good plan I can follow, really hoping I can get this removed/defaulted so that it is removed sooner. Have another default from the same time coming off next month.

Thanks

    It's worth a punt...

I didn't know the account number for my Capital One account; if you have access to Noddle or a copy of your £2 stat. report enclose a photostat or screen capture within the letter.

Capital One accepted this as proof of my dispute with them; hopefully Lloyds Bank will be the same!

I do have the Equifax one that shows the details, but not the full account number? It doesn't show up on Noddle strangely enough??

Thanks, I will check the thread out.

Also, when should I state the account should have been defaulted?

    My account shows as:

    July 2008 - 1 (yellow)
    August 2008 - 2 (yellow)
    September 2008 - 3 (red)
    October 2008 - AP (grey)
    November 2008 - AP (grey)

    and so on..

Should I count it as December 2008 where it would have been '6' and therefore defaulted?

Sorry, I should've added it doesn't include the account number but CO didn't question that (in my case.)

Thank you, wonder if anyone else can chip in with any details?

I would be worried that if I press for them to default it, they would take it from the date 6+ after the AP started?

That's life. Credit history is there to tell the world about you as a potential borrower. Your parents should have educated you about paying your bill on time.

If you had read the original post you would have realised it was nothing to do with a bill, but an unauthorised use of an overdraft which then got stacked to £600+ of charges in a seemingly unstoppable cycle.

But thanks for your ever so helpful input.
