To add to that, there is no difference in the way the signal is received in the aerial pre- and post-digital.
The only differences (and it doesn't apply to every area) is whether aerials remained serviceable due to age, and whether the variation between old and new frequencies meant that a new aerial handling the entire frequency spectrum was required, where the old one was optimised for a subset of the frequency range.
Oh, and the answer to the question: How do I receive live broadcasts without an aerial/cable/satellite? ... is through internet-based services (ie. iPlayer live).
Sorry... I couldn't stand the suspense.0 -

Hope that helps.

Oh please don't stop him. This is so amusing!
How can someone be so wrong from so many standpoints, be corrected repeatedly and still carry on posting?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
God there really are some ****** on here The set top box changed the receiving signal from the aerial From analogue to digital and as far as I'm aware you could change your arial to do the same thing
You accuse me of being ******* (something) when you post a complete load of incorrect and absolute rubbish information like this, you really need to stop posting as you are digging a bigger and bigger hole for yourself with every post.0 -

Wasn't he coming back with an update from Ms. Doubtfire, too?
Perhaps she's shut down communications on the issue, which is what she often does, apparently. Can't have the stakeholders asking pertinent questions, can we?0
