Nope - I did that, too.

    So did I.
The June letter was the hated "see you in Court" letter.

    So was my June letter.

My July one is the "What you need to know about the enfarcement process" letter.

So why did my letter from her advise me that as of June this year the letters WILL be toned down.

I'm still getting the same old crap from Jane Jeffers.

Maybe they're still using up their stocks of "what to expect in court" and "final stages" letters.

The BBC did say that they're now going to be more careful with licence fee payers' money.
  • I'll say one thing for BBC/TVL, they're optimists.

    My latest Threat-O-Gram begins:-

"As you have not responded to our letters yet".

    YET

Thirteenth copy of that particular Threat-O-Gram (55 Threat-O-Grams in total), and they still anticipate me responding, at some point.

Hmm, I think the "avoid all contact" rather than the "be nice to the beeb" seems to be less hassle in my circumstances.

Who said anything about lying in Court?

" TVL doesn't operate by magic and it doesn't make up the rules as it goes along. If you had fought back at the time, you could have possibly had it thrown out. Presumably you didn't do that was because you didn't know, and you didn't think it worth fighting because you knew you were guilty. "

At what time When I ended up in court after " ignoring all the letters " do I tell lies Magistrate " do you admit you watch live tv " Me " no " magistrate or TVL representative " you are lying " magistrate Heavy fine or poss Jail for contempt of court
OR Magistrate " do you admit you watch live tv " Me " Yes Magistrate Smaller fine and NO contempt of court charge Me pay fine buy licence get on with life

It comes with the territory, I'm afraid. This is a social place - you won't get away with a monologue or the dictation of an agenda. It simply doesn't work like that.

It's far from " social " In a " social " environment any Discussion is had without a lot of aggression OR twisting the ORIGINAL point
    But then that's MY opinion
I'm sure like my ORIGINAL thread it WILL get detracted from the ORIGINAL point to suit those that contribute :mad::mad:

In this type of ghost case, we generally recommend contacting either TVL or the Court (depending on the exact circumstances) in the first instance.

There is no question of lying - it's simply a matter of pointing out that the evidence against you is false - for X, Y, Z reasons. (In your case, because TVL had never been to your home). Cases get thrown out on a daily basis because of mistakes or technical issues. This could have been one of them.

... OR Magistrate " do you admit you watch live tv " Me " Yes Magistrate Smaller fine and NO contempt of court charge Me pay fine buy licence get on with life
Apparently, they shouldn't ask you this question, certainly not if you don't enter the witness box. It is for the prosecution to prove the case against you and if the evidence is false, that'll be kind of tricky.
