Happy new year
I am finally feeling betterTotal debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29

Time for an update.
I have made a big decision...... I am going to consolidate EVERYTHING into the loan that I have, so that I just have one payment to make. It is going to be £239 per month which saves me loads a month.
What my plan is though is to make overpayments to the loan, I know it is not the cheapest way... However it tidies up everything and will allow me to build up a good emergency fund and save for my mortgage whilst still clearing the debt down by £239 per month.
I will save and save and then knock chunks off of the loan.
I am more keen than ever to continue with all of the challenges so that I can save as much every month as possible to pay to the loan.
I am going to cut up my big Barclaycard which is being paid off, and close if. But I will keep my telco credit card but not carry it with me, I do not want any excuses to add to my debts any longer, even if my car has any problems.
I know debt consol loans don't work for everyone but I think I'm strong enough now to use it in a productive way.Total debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29

Sounds like a plan Laura, I like things nice and tidy and all in one place too, think its my OCD! X0

I'm glad you agree it's a good plan, I always worry about doing anything drastic money wise ..... But I can't see a downside to it.
All I have to ensure is that under no circumstances I add to debt by any form, which is why I need savings behind me. Having my debt how it is now uses up most of my monthly income and I am not getting anywhere fast and the trouble there is that I can't build an emergency fund to cover car issues etcTotal debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29

Thanks monz I am really focused, I want to get this debt gone but I'm focusing on every angle including getting some savings aside for emergencys and paying car insurance in one go etc.
I have had a bad evening, back to work tomorrow but my poor little guinea pig is unwell ... I had to take him to the emergency vet... £70 it cost which has almost wiped my emergency fund... He still needs to see his usual vet so god knows how much it will cost to get him sorted in total, but again it has made me realise how important that emergency fund is because if I didn't have it I would have paid that on credit card! It would have been the only way.
The surveys are slowing down but I'm checking everyday I'm addicted.
Anyway I only have a few hours sleep, so I best get goingxx

Glad your feeling better, at least it was a nice short week and you've got the weekend to rest if you need to.
