Hi Laura, sounds like an excellent plan re: the emergency fund. I've heard quite a bit about Dave Ramsey, but not seen anything. Have you seen the thread on the old style board about stepping out of consumerism in 2015, it's really interesting, I'm really thinking I'm gonna give this a go, as well as doing dry January! I'm really going for it lol!!
Great news about the possible interview, fingers crossed you hear something soon.
Have a great Christmas x0 -

I can't believe Christmas is over already, this year it has really hit me how much money I spent even though I budgeted for it and all the presents are done and unwrapped. Not to sound stingy but now I have sat back and thought about it, had I been more organised I could have got more for less.
I will do that this year!!! Also I am getting on the case with all surveys to earn more vouchers for birthdays and the cash towards my debts.
Thanks to Maryland Cookie I have been ready the say goodbye to consumerism in 2015, I am so intrigued and really considering joining, basically apart from things that are needed I won't buy any luxuries from any company - I have finally realised how cleverly they make us think we need to buy these bargains that aren't really bargains because we don't need them.
I am really excited to see what 2015 is going to bring in terms of cracking this debt.
Planning to have a quiet new year this year by going over to my sisters with my OH therefore saving on taxi fares and expensive club drinks!!!
Also doing well so far with my emergency fund I have £100 now and I plan to stick sooooobmany things on eBay to get the funds together.Total debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29

Hi Laura, we've had a really frugal Christmas this year and all the family agreed that we would cut back. The best present I had was some framed photos of my nephews, that my sister had taken. It's been one of the best Christmas' we've ever had, just spending time together.
I've not posted on the OS consumerism thread but lurk and read daily, but it's really inspired me not to be so spendy in 2015, let's do it together and we can encourage each other! I'm a product junkie, and love face and body creams, I'm determined not to buy anything until Ive used up all my current stash!! I had a boots gift card for Christmas so I'm saving that to use for things when I need them.
Clothes wise, I don't tend to spend much and buy stuff from Primarni, Tesco, George etc, but have loads of stuff in my wardrobe, so no more clothes!!! Oh god, I'm scared lol!!!
Have a fab new year, here's to a happy and consumer free 2015!! X0 -

Yes let's do this!!!!I spend to much money on things I really don't need! I get sucked in by adverts for the latest make up that I tell myself I need..... When I dont, I'm terrible for creams and clothes also.
I have yet another cold, not sure if it's because I have started the stop smoking tablets again maybe. I seem to always get a cold when I start taking them it's really strange.
I have been lucky this Christmas for presents, I got a tk Maxx £20 voucher but I'm not going to use it I wil either wait till a family member buys something there and get them to use the voucher and give me the cash or wait till Xmas and use it for that.
Glad you had a good frugal Christmas!! Just shows its not all about the presents and money spentx

Hi diary,
No major things to Update today I have a cold which meant a lazy day for me, which also means a NSD day for me. I am going to start counting my NSD's and see how many I can manage up until paydayso.....1/1 so far.
I have decided to join some challenges, I am doing the £1000 challenge which ties in perfectly as it is to save an emergency fund, also the roadkill one which is to find as much money this year as I can that isn't mine, friends or families. Should be funI always pick up coins!
until tomorrow x
