  • Hi Laurag89 - so your working on Baby Step 1.
I would roll the £641 up to £650 (it looks neater don't you think??)
I am back in Baby Step 1 for the moment as I have used some of my Emergency Fund and now need to re fund it.
Early last year I had completed both Baby Step 1 and 2 but then didn't really get into BS3. Having just paid of all my debt - I felt like I could slow down and relax a little. Spend a little money on stuff. Big mistake and here I am again.
Say what you want about Dave Ramsey but his Baby Steps are common sense.
We will have to compare notes!!
Have you put your snowball on whats the cost com(all one word? I have found it very helpful.

Hi Laura, I've just read through your whole diary and will be subscribing. Just wanted to say that you're doing brilliantly. I've started a thread on the challenge board that might be good for you - it's called use it or lose it. As I've said in my own diary, it's amazing how much I own. I'm also doing the £1000 emergency fund challenge too. Keep going, and well done on the no smoking. SVB XX

    Hey stereochild,

Thanks for stopping by, it's great to hear that the Dave Ramsay theory works and to stick to all steps.
I think I may try £1000 emergency fund as there is a challenge for it on the debt free challenges board.
I have done a snowball but I haven't followed it if I am honest ... Maybe I should but I have been slowly starting on step two and doing the smallest debts first in order, and then hitting the next debt with more.
    :)

    Hi Svb53,

Thank you for taking time to read my diary :)
I will have a look on the challenge it sounds like a good one for me, I have so much stuff I don't use.

I have slipped up many times and started again but I'm done with it now. Too expensive and it stinks!!

I am really focusing on emergency fund first because without that it is pointless paying off loads of debt to then use it up again in an emergency which I have had to do before.

    :)

Today I have some good and bad news!!!

Good news NSD 3/3 bad news is that the reason being I am too ill to even get out of bed, thanks to the flu I have to also phone in sick tomorrow. I'm up at my OH's and really can't face the 55 mile drive back home feeling like this :(
I'm sure anyone reading this is thinking I need to man up, but I have never felt this bad from a cold/flu and I am not one to phone in sick ever.
On a plus side it means I wont be spending any money.

    Xx

  • Finally slowly starting to feel more human I am planning to start my eBay challenge tomorrow, and sell as much as possible to build up my emergency fund.

I didn't manage a NSD today I drove home from my OH's and wasn't feeling to happy so bought some ciggys. I'm so naughty. But I will learn eventually.
I am hoping for a NSD tomorrow though :)

I am up to £120 in my emergency fund so far and just completed another survey so I'm not too far away from another £10.
