Does anyone have any top tips on getting cricket whites clean? DH keeps wicket and hence spends four hours every Saturday flinging himself onto the ground; he had new trousers at the start of the season but they're already bogging. I have tried most proprietary stain removers but they don't help much. I think most of the problem is the soil at their 'home' ground is sandy and stains everything an orangey brown. Dusty?!
Fizzwhizz - I used to find old fashioned Fairy hard green soap worked a treat on grass stains - just wet the stain and rub it hard with the block of soap before washing. Not sure how it will do on orangey brown marks though but perhaps worth a try?

LJK - thanks - will have a look.
LW will be thinking about you both tomorrow.x

    Evening

Washing in, floor still to mop but needs resweeping.

Fizz I struggle with the mud stains too. I wash at 60, use ecover bio power with scoop of vannish. I sometimes pretreat with dylon all purpose stain remover prewash.

Going to pop some dinner on as DH will hopefully be home at around 8ish, but will do a HHC at 7 if anyone would like to join?

Ha I thought it was only my son who does that!! I use one of those Vanish stain remover bars and gently scrub with an old nail brush. To be honest I have given up getting them whiter than white though.

Got a fb message from DS1 this morning while I was at work saying "help - I am in agony with my skin". Rang the docs and they scared me by saying it could be a symptom of liver problems!! Just goes to show you should take these things seriously. DS does have Crohns and is on loads of other medication, he had his liver function checked a couple of weeks ago so its seems like a reaction to the sun over the weekend.

Anyhow, the 5 am start is catching up with me. Cant stop now, off to sort some washing and dust my desk and around both computers. Early night I think!

I'm totally exhausted, completely done the attic today by myself and I mean 8 hours of flinging and sorting. I now have 5 bin bags for ebay, a car boot full off stuff for tip and charity shop, 8 bin bags took to charity bin and 10 bin bags of baby boy clothes which I think will have to be split into age groups and sell as bundles on gumtree.

DS3 now has 3 bin bags of clothes to grow into next year which I've labelled, bag of snowsuits, Christmas stuff and light heater all put away neatly.

Some baby toys will be going to mother and toddler group, also found a pair of curtains for the main hall and they match with the paint (curtains already been washed).

Now me and DS3 are heading to bed, really won't take me long dropping off tonight. So pleased to have that big job done. Tomorrow will be tip, charity shop and get the car done before I get new one on Wednesday.

FizzWhizz my house is the same with loom bands, kids get 2 minutes to lift them or they go up the hoover.

Evening everyone, it seems we could all do with an early night tonight, but probably not possible for all. My updated list:

Manic Monday - Hall, Stairs, Landing and Study/Desk
    Only got 15 minutes..

    [STRIKE]S&S toilets and basins[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Hoover [/STRIKE]and mop these areas
    30 minutes to spare...
    [STRIKE]Do some filing/email deleting[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Dust the lights and skirtings[/STRIKE]
    Got an hour...
[STRIKE]Wipe your front door in and out[/STRIKE]

Not bad I suppose. Planning a lie in tomorrow morning if poss.
Spend less now, work less later.
