    hope the day improves wendy.
at DS2 school, if they are caught with phones they have to hand them over and phones must then be collected by a parent and £2 paid to the charity the school are supporting. DS has only taken his once by accident (as he uses the same rucksack at weekends and forgot to take it out) he got a text alert in an assembly just as the head was doing a speak about playing by the rules and doing the right thing. LOL. i still left it a week before i went down to collect it and took the £2 out of his pocket money. all the office staff said they felt sorry for DS as he looked so embarrassed. he hasnt done it again.

DD1's boyfriend tried to weld my bed yesterday but it seems the metal of the frame is too thin for the type of welder we have so it basically can't be done. Looks like a new bed frame has jumped the priority list :(

    TTFN

Have alook at JL - yes I know! - but a double or small double frame Basics Apollo cheapest silver one is £70 - gets good reviews and DS has one which we moved easily the other week. it seems quite substantial.

In really bad mood after an hour and a half gardening but mainly cat poo corner clearing - we don't have a cat! Now looking at prices for pebbles as a mulch instead of strulch!!!

Will catch up later with fred. Hope everyone's Ok. x

I really need to do my kitchen today, plus get some cooking done, so I'm starting now (10:00am) and will stop at 11:00am for a cuppa and a check on progress!

  • Hello ladies, may I join you? I've been lurking for a while and doing the lists, well some of them. Thank you so much I can't believe how much better everything's looking.

I'll probably mainly be a lurker as I could easily get so involved I'd forget to do any flying lol. I've read Toots' welcome guide, but can't open the link to the master list, and I've tried 2 different devices so don't 'think' it's me. I wondered if anyone could post a link to it for me? I may have to wait till I'm feeling strong before I look at it though.

Happy holidays to all who are going, have a well earned rest. Ps what are sticks and spoons?

there is no 'master list' you write your own.. all those things on your 'to-do' list.. decorating, gardening, fixing, rebuilding etc..

spoons are units of energy .. we have a set amount each day and some days we just need more!

sticks are to coax away the black dog who is very naughty and makes us have low moods by hanging around sucking up our joy

    Good morning all

Hope all goes well for your m-i-l today, mrs-mp. We'll be thinking of you all.
Happy holidays to everyone who's packing for a trip.

I managed to tick another small thing off my Toots list yesterday :) Every little helps!
The course went very well (final session yesterday) and we got good feedback :)

In no particular order, today I must
    - make 5 phonecalls
    - write a thank-you letter
    - 5 minutes' ironing!
    - weed the front garden
    - plant out some bits and pieces that I have somehow acquired on our recent outings :o
    - tackle another item off my Toots list
    - shop for fruit and veg, which we are getting through at an alarming rate but we're making a real effort for the next 4 weeks as I won't get another referral for SW vouchers :money: (BMI now below the cut-off point :p ) and I need to reach target. I now fit into size 12 trousers (just!) :D
    - deliver / post invitations to the Old Wives' Party
    - make up a resource box to take to my colleague tomorrow

have attacked the scrubland (AKA flowerbed) on the park at the side of our house is is now a sensible height and looks tidier. ive left the council their clipping to pick up/rot away as they see fit but its not been tended since it was planted a few years ago so is just a mass of weeds and brambles now. front hedge done both ours and neighbours side, neighbour made me a cuppa as thank you, had a natter with quite a few people ive not seen for a while as they were passing by. picked a bowl full of blackberries off the tidy bramble i allow to inhabit a corner of the front garden. going to pick up front hedge clipping off the front then attack the conifers. then possibly set up ironig board in the back garden and empty the basket.

welcome to all the new joiners to the fly thread.
