  • Thats more good news Liz !

I make that a back date of about £350 so either a lumpsum or £350 extra spread over the remaining year on top of the £14 pw that you are going to get that you have not so far been receiving.

Im afraid you wont get a back date further than April.

    Have a good day,

The library network thinks hotmail and moneysavingexpert are "adult" sites and would not let me in over the weekend. Been sorting something here so not had a chance today, but will write stuff up tomorrow or download the basics so i can work on it at home.

In the mean-time i was talking to DS re her kids and the school tranport situation (they live 4 miles from town) and had a thought re your situation.

The County Council should be paying to transport your kids to and from school, if you live that far away. If you are in Shropshire then look here

This could save you some petrol costs at least.

    Hi again

    Are you OK?

Here is the first bit on the PPI.

Did you say that your ex is unlikely to work again? Is this ill-health? If so did he have any contact with medics about the problem before you got this loan out? It would be yet another reason why selling it to you was inappropriate.

If you think there are any other points, like they did know his employment history, or that he was actauly unemployed at the time, then it needs to go in to beef up the argument

    Re: Account number:

When my ex-husband and I signed for this managed loan in November 2000, I purchased the above Credit Loan Insurance policy from you but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following reasons:

This is due to the fact that the Credit Loan Insurance was intended to cover my then husband and at that time he was unemployed. Your staff were aware that at the time the only regular income to our joint account was from my employer and that he had been unemployed on a number of occasions previously.

We were offered a single premium policy. We were effectively borrowing more, which then had to be paid off throughout the loan, including interest on the insurance as well as the loan. . At a time when your staff were very aware of our financial difficulties this increased our debt and made the loan payments even more problematic. In the period December 2000 - May 2001, the PPI payments increased our overraft by over £200, a sum that was then incorporated into our debt to yourselves when it was referred to MCS in May 2001.

Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of the principle that was included in the loan, all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.

I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded with eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.

I see, the PPI gets dealt with first.... It looks good to me. Thank you.

The reason the ex didn't work is because he is lazy. He still isn't working. In fact, he is not in my good books (is he ever!) at the moment for bringing my sons home late, not fed, filthy and with the younger one's face burned from "playing too close to a bonfire".

Plus parking right next to my car this evening and deciding to volunteer at the school where I work...... nothing devious there at all, then.

Have been meaning to say - a couple of days ago my current a/c went up by £651.18! It says DWP when I checked on the internet so I am guessing this must be the backdated money towards the mortgage.

(Does that benefit have a name? Its not really housing benefit).

    Nothing from Tax Credits yet.

P.P.S I haven't heard anything from MCS about my £1 a month offer! This is the longest silence I have ever known from them.

Not being funny but did you get your son checked over by someone medical, did anyone else see him come home like that. Reason being OH might be setting you up ref the children, or doesn't he really mind that they live with you?

Sorry I can't help being paranoid!

Pity. Did the bank have any knowledge of his employment history?

    He still isn't working.

    Hi

Not really Just trying to get the legal stuff for the individual complaints done one by one.

    next ones -

the interest added when the debt was sent to MCS

and the OFT Guidelines - re that

Did you ever tell MCS that you were off sick or that you had lost your job because if ill-health? Persistant haressment of a vunerable person is against OFT Guidelines.
