Aha, and £10 per fortnight from the CSA. Perhaps they are taking the £10 off me?0

Ooo, what shall I do if the backpayments go straight to the mortgage company??? I have already paid the mortgage, surely they don't need it twice? I could do with the money myself to cover other bills!

If your mortgage is ' in front' due to the payments then ask your mort company for the excess, explaining your circumstances. You are allowed to keep that amount of csa payment ( and more ).
You need to tell the tax credit office that you are on income support and you would like your CTC to be calculated on this current years income. Tel tax credits helpline on 0845 300 3900.
Good luck !

Hi, Ras mentioned a second mortgage. The rules for this are that only mortgages and secured loans that were specifically to purchase the home where you live are covered. So for instance if you borrowed say 70,000 and £55,000 was to buy the property and £15,000 was for debt consolidation and a holiday, then you would have the interest paid on the £55,000.
cheers

Acey released £10K equity to pay the solicitor for the divorce. Does this means she does not get the interest on that paid?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
No im afraid that would not be covered under the income support mortgage interest scheme.
Sorry !

Tonight a friend of mine has mentioned a discretionary housing benefit scheme run by local councils, but not well publicised. Is this something I could look into?

Hi Acey,
Disressionary housing benefit is run by all councils, its a legal requirement, however it is linked to main housing benefit, and as such is only available to people who rent.
Sorry !

Tax credits - 0845 300 3900!
I spoke to them just now and was asked several times what money I had coming in. They said I would be entitled to the full amount (as DD stated above) and this would either come in a lump sum dated back to April 2007 or a bit more would be added to my weekly child tax credits amount.
I was getting tax credits pre April 2007 but I don't know what happens to back dating that.
I do owe them some money from being overpaid when the ex was here (2004-2005?) but they didn't mention that.
