Good evening.
Update: it was a NSD for me (not counting the builders wage) but not for DH who really wanted a bottle of beer, so he sent DS to the shop and they had a beer each. Still, I count it as a personal NSD.
Got everything done as planned, allotment beans transplanted, Indian lady's table fixed (DH) and he also sprayed weeds in her garden with weed killer.
Tea with friends was lovely, ate a few hm scones with hm crabapple and quince jelly, yummy.
Dinner was a really homegrown affair, pasta and bean veg soup (beans, spinach, runner beans, courgettes and basil all homegrown, by us and neighbours). Accompanied by lettuce tomato and cucumber salad, 100% homegrown in our allotment. Nothing beats freshly picked salad and this is the first year we grow cucumber and we will again, it is so lovely!
Tomorrow will be a biggish spend day as I need to restock the food supply and toilet roll stash.
Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
About the only OS thing I've done today apart from cooking a roast Sunday lunch from scratch was to cook a turkey drumstick in the oven alongside the beef. It will do us for two lunches with salad.
NSD if you don't count giving the GK's their spending money.

Quite proud of today. We forgot to defrost the chicken today and we had the option of takeaway(2 nearby-always tempting) or try to find something from the cupboards. Not much there as shopping tomorrow. Well we ended up with Potato waffles,Chicken Nuggets and sweet corn. Not the healthiest but all plates were cleared and it's now down on the meal planner instead of the usual takeaway:TNOT BUYING IT 2018!

Hello 1of3, welcome to the thread and well done on your OS day! I am puzzled by your location, 2nd star to the right, is that a reference to the island that is not there? So the next instruction should read "then straight on till morning"!
My OS plan today:
DH salad lunch already packed last night with stuff from allotment, so just need to decant a bit of oil in a bottle for dressing (the lunch box is not tight). And add fruit.
I need to do a shop as we are out of a few things, will take myself to L1dl with my trolley.
Then quick gym, then my counselling appointment, then lunch at my friends where I have to do some work (year end accounts ARGHHHHH!).
Dinner tonight will depend on what offers I find, but will include cauliflower and squash that need using.
Have a good OS start of the week! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Cauliflower and chick pea curry? We seem to be a bit obsessed with it in our house at the moment:rotfl:Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Came back from a weekend away and found 2 huge courgettes! Both have been picked and are now in the fridge.
Dinner tonight will be stuffed courgette, using LO beef from last night's dinner, mixed with chopped up veggies from the fridge - mushrooms, peppers etc, cooked in beef gravy with a splash of worcester sauce. DH wants HM chips with it as last time just the stuffed courgette wasn't enough! Just hope it's as nice as the last time we had it.
Will have to find something else to do with the other one! Any ideas?

Most days here are NSDs, I only hit the shops once a week. It's also good for diets - as long as you stay strong when you hit the shop on that one day....lol0

Well finally a NSD yesterday, the start of many hopefully. Enjoyed a 8 mile walk as well, took own food and drink so no spend. Trying to use all the bits and bobs in the freezer , will have to label stuff better, gave son a meat pasty when it was a cheese pasty which he hates. Since weather is ok, off to peg out the first of two loads of washing.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

Went to a car boot and poultry sale yesterday and did not spend anything!I would like 3/4 more chickens but have enough eggs daily so this will wait until the spring. Used the mantra of 'do i need it' which worked. still had a lovely morning out.
This was the first weekend that no papers were bought, so more saving there! Read the newspapers online with my morning coffee now.
Finished digging the last of the 2nd early potatoes, picked more beans and then made apple cake with the fallers off the tree.
Will finish painting the dresser today so thats another job jobbed!
