Bella it sounds like you have already done very well with your weight, congratulations, please don't be hard on yourself. There is more to weight gain (and loss) than just willpower, so please do not feel shame, you are a great person just the way you are!

Well, reporting today: apart from the tenner for the spa (lovely, really relaxing), no other spend. Then dinner at my friend's as planned.

Very proud of myself as I turned down the offer of ice cream with chocolate sauce! So it is a sugar free day- well there was some sugar in her hm chutneys, but that's all, not like if I had eaten cake. Also passed the last of the Sardinian cakes on DS desk and did not even pick up a crumb!

    Good night.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Spend for the day £2.20  could have been worse. Tea of leftovers and home grown and it was very nice thank you.

Just made Dgs a big floor cushion from gifted material and Ds's old cushion inners. Busy now sorted out all my Wip's so they can be finished ready to knuckle down on 'C' word preparations.

Had chicken and salad last night and enough chicken left to make at least one pie if not noe.
Made courgette soup - some for work and can freeze some for easy lunches.
Picked blackberries and ate some and will freeze the rest.

Feeling more OS and more positive towards keeping it p.

    Good morning,

Ginny your post reminded me I haven't posted you the bits of fabric yet, will do today!

Big spend day today, lots of money needs to be sent to the plumber and wages to the builder who is still working in my kitchen. But that's all budgeted.

Today is the start of big declutter in the bedroom. Not sure I shall manage it all at once but will do my best to get clear of as much unused or unloved stuff.

    Wish me luck!

    Have a good OS day.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Xmas Saver!
    Afternoon all

Back late last night from a few days away to the Big Smoke and I now desperately need to pick up the OS lifestyle. Needless to say I spent a silly amount, in fact I'm not even going to try and count it! I'm going to focus on the positives that it could have been a lot worse and although I dipped into savings at least it wasn't on credit cards or overdrafts!

No energy to do anything today (had to come straight back to work :() so will be having a cuppa at a friends house then early night. No idea what's in for tea so it'll no doubt involve a stop at the shops. Will need to behave for the next two weeks till payday so I'll make a start of getting extra cash in (ebay/fb sales) and saving money with meal planning and careful spending!

    Hope you're all well

Had 4 NSDs in a row, OH kindly paid for dinner last night!!

Bit of a spendy night tonight, heading to the cinema and I need to buy us a new duvet as well!!

Tomorrow we will be out all day, gonna budget €60 for it as I know we are going somewhere expensive with a set menu :( but my friend is heading off to Dubai so it's her last hurrah!!

Have eaten quite a bit out of the cupboards, kinda happy at seeing them go down! My basil plant is looking quite unhappy so I've popped it outside to see if I can cheer it up a bit!

Had DGD here for a sleepover, we spent the morning card making and I showed her how to make paper roses from scraps. Lunch was simple child friendly beans on toast.

Dinner tonight was a homemade cottage pie 'ready meal' from the freezer.

All in all a fairly OS day.

    Good morning,

Yesterday was a day of mini disasters (interspersed with cleaning and decluttering successes).

First, as I was clearing the shoe shelves I dropped my spare coins jar, it fell and broke in a million shards on my bedroom floor. Then I discovered that the dustpan and brush had been left outside by the builder so the brush was all wet and squishy, not good at all to pick up the glass, dust and coins mixture. So it took me ages to do it with my hands. I am grateful I did not get cut!

Then as I lifted the mattress to turn it I discovered a lot of dust fluff between the slats under the bed. The vacuum cleaner, which was already making horrid whinny noises in spite of having been emptied before, decided to conk out and explode. Well, not as "bomb explosion" type of explosion, just a big pop and a side of it came out.

So, looking for the guarantee, just missed the 6.30 pm deadline to call customer service, and discovered that I do not have proof of purchase, although I have the registered guarantee, because I had bought it on amazon and subsequently closed my amazon account. Found the credit card statement with the amazon transaction, called the credit card company and discovered that they did not have that month statement, said I had spent nothing in that month. At this point I realised that there must be a gremlin in action. Because I also realised, by association, that I could not find/had lost the receipt for the vax steam cleaner I bought recently in Arg0s so cannot register the guarantee.

After a whole day like this I was so tired, my back aching from moving furniture and picking up stuff, when DS came home I offered to get us a takeaway. Pop went my OS principles, there.

On the positive side: a lot of decluttering has happened, no more dust behind cupboards, all shoes ( including DH's) tidied and dusted and put in boxes, lots of stuff delivered to the CS (and more to go today), the rickety wooden shelf that hosted the shoes before tidying was snapped up by the builder to put in his van as a tool shelf, the takeaway was paid for by some of the coins from the jar, £11 got us two large main course veg curry portions and a large pilau, and popadoms. After all, those coins were intended for treats, so I don't feel bad for the treat.

Today my OS day plan is:

    1. Bootcamp

    2. Planning to have a NSD today (unless the vacuum cleaner company says they can't accept the guarantee without receipt then I have to buy a vacuum cleaner)

    3. Continue with clearing and decluttering, more trips to CS

    4. Breakfast lunch and dinner from whatever we have in fridge and cupboards.

    5. A real joy, DH passed his martial arts grading yesterday and is back tonight!

    Have a good OS day.

  • Re the amazon purchase, is it possible you still might have the order or delivery confirmation for it on your email? Unless you are good at de-cluttering you inbox too!

Penguin alas I declutter emails regularly! I should have printed the receipt, but didn't, thinking I can always access it online. Then deleted my account without thinking of that. Ah well I hope that the company will accept my credit card statement, it only says AMAZON UK and the price, but I have registered it so they might not ask for proof of purchase if I am lucky.

Edit: they had my details on file, so no need for proof of purchase! PHEW! The customer service assistant told me to wash the filter and will send me a replacement side (the thing that's blown off) free of charge. He listened to the noise and said that it does not sound wrong (it does to me). Will try to do all the things he suggested and cross fingers it works. This means I can register my other vax appliance too, just give them date of purchase and serial number! Feeling better already.
