Fingers crossed will pass over soon x0 -
Good evening,
Cranky, glad that your boy is better!
MOS thank you, I had a good duvet day yesterday but today was out and about and feeling much better. I need to get back to my own routine, for sanity of mind!
Kezkou thanks for your kind words, I hope you get well soon.
Ok, so today was a bit of a shopping day, had to buy the long lightbulb for the bathroom light, then popped into Marks to use up my £5 off voucher on salads and other bits and pieces of veg and cheese, but had to do a top up at grocers as marks did not have a couple of things.
Then after some lunch I spent the afternoon at a knitting club where a lovely woman was really generous with her skill and helped me finish the front of the jumper. Now I have to start the sleeves, so I got to check the yarn in the freezer, hoping that the cold has killed the dreaded moth, and check that the yarn is usable and not chopped in pieces.
Very very tired so will say good night now..Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Good morning,
Gently slotting back into my daily routines, in fact even creating a new one today. I start working early mornings for a family, start time 7.20am, the boy starts school at 8:45 am then I am free for the rest of the day, no afternoon pickups.
So, today I will just potter about after work, a bit of laundry and tidying to do and then I have counselling, which will be very welcome after all this time, it is a good supporting space where to go and offload all the sad stuff that is going on with DD. And the counsellor is very good at supporting DH as well, he probably needs the space more than me, as I have my friends to sound off with. Men don't have the same emotional outlets.
Nothing fancy planned for this evening. The doctor prescribed me sleeping tablets, just so I can get a decent night sleep, but I didn't dare take one just before starting the new job in case I did not wake up in time, so tonight is the test night.
I hope you all have a good OS day. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Evening All,
Caterina, glad you are starting to feel better
My CFS/Fibro isn't much better this week but trying to do what I can around the house, so glad I have HM 'ready meals' in the freezer! Tonight we have HM fish pie with veg, I made extra white sauce so I can freeze it which will make the fish pie quicker to make next time.
Not a NSD day for me today as veggie DD2 needed some veggies for her meals, £35.18 later we left Mr T's, I normally go to Ald!'s but they don't stock the items she wanted. Oh to have a fussy veggie DD, she drives me insane sometimes but I love her to bits! :rotfl:
I have spent quite a bit of time doing some cross stitching as it's my favourite past time, I am doing a 'Love' one for me an DH, then I have a butterfly lap quilt for my Aunt for Christmas, a Christmas stocking for DH and a Highland Cow for my eldest DD, she loves anything with animals on.
Wishing you all an OS evening0 -
Good morning,
MOS sorry you aren't feeling so good now, I hope you don't have too much to do around the house and find time to rest. The cross stitch sounds lovely. I have picked up my knitting again and it helps a lot with relaxation.
Miraculously I had a 10 hour sleep, after weeks of waking up in the middle of the night fretting. I had even gone to see my GP and now have a box full of sleeping tablets on my bedside. But as I am always wary of medicines. I decided to wait before taking one. Last night I was so tired, I was in bed at 8 and asleep at 9. I vaguely recall DH coming into bed, early too, then briefly waking up in the middle of the night, only to drift back to sleep straight away again, then it was 7am! And without tablets or anything! Feeling much better.
Today I am meeting a few OS friends at a jumble sale near my home and the have a mini meet. Got to get up now, if I can pull myself together I can manage to make a batch of scones. Was going to buy them but then the powerful OS instinct kicked in, so I am going to make them at home instead.
Have a good OS day all! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
And my budget has been helped by the bad weather... if you cant get to a shop then you cant spend any money... Perfect!0

We are also staying in due to bad weather. Master Cranky had his swimming lesson this morning and the wind was blowing so hard I struggled to get the car door open. The cats are spending so long asleep that I'm surprised they haven't lost the use of their legs!
Glad you're sleeping better Caterina, I didn't sleep well Thursday night as there were strange noises in the roof when the wind blew. I was so tired last night that I slept anyway. I did hear a few creaks and groans when we first went to bed but then......
I've made use of a day in and have all the washing up to date. I may go and do a bit of the resulting ironing in a minute. I've also tidied my junk drawer. I may tackle Master C's junk drawer tomorrow if I'm feeling strong. Dinner tonight is the other half of what I had last night for me and probably jacket potato with cheese and beans for the boy. I'm hoping to get a bit more of my ripple blanket done tonight too.0 -
Not done a lot today but have had to spend some money  My DD2 has 2 house bunnies, very beautiful, but they can escape over the top of the 2ft bunny run and I find them sat in the downstairs hallway, playing! So, I have had to invest in a large cage with a run at the bottom so they can have lots of space and toys without escaping....£54.99 spent
Yesterday I cooked fish pie but over estimated the size so we have enough left over for dinner tonight, I will have mine with peas and DH will have sweet corn. Nice easy 'ping' dinner for us and not much washing up.
Going to try and start one of my Christmas presents, which was a 1000 piece puzzle of the Snow, and and Snowdog, might have to evict the cat from the table first!
Have a lovely evening and catch up tomorrow.0 -
Good evening,
Mardatha good that you did not spend, but I hope that the weather gets a little less wild all the same! At least you got the snow you wanted, though!
Cranky I hope you get better sleep now. Well done on clearing junk drawers, it is such a feeling, even a small drawer really has an impact on mental well being, I have found.
MOS how funny, the escapee bunnies! But I bet you weren't laughing about having to buy them a more secure cage. Re. 1000 piece puzzle, have fun, it will keep you out of mischief for a while, no doubt!
Today I had a good day. First of all having slept made a difference to my mood and energy levels, so everything seemed a bit easier than these last few weeks.
In the morning I baked a batch of mini scones for my OS friends visiting, then I met with them at the local jumble sale. I only spent £2 on some lovely Pyrex oven to table bakeware, with lids too! And 20p for a gorgeous cream and yellow chequered tablecloth that goes well with my kitchen colours.
Then back home with my friends, the tea flowed and so did the conversation, it is always such a pleasure to have OS friends around, we are just so much on the same wavelength.
Then I was about to go for a walk with DH but a neighbour needed a lift somewhere, and we did our walk afterwards, but it was getting rather cold so we did not stay out too long. Tomorrow I ought to have a good long walk to compensated the sedentary day today.
In the evening I decided to make beetroot risotto and invite my old Italian friend. I picked her up in the car but she had already eaten. She accepted a glass of wine, though, so to keep her company I had some too (pop went my January Dryathlon, but just for this once). The risotto was lovely and she had a taste and liked it very much. DH held back on the wine so could drive her back. He is now enjoying his half bottle!
Tomorrow I look forward to free cinema (show film first tickets) in the morning, so I really hope I shall manage to get another nice night sleep, crossing fingers. I would also like to have a NSD.
I hope you all had a good OS day, good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Good morning,
I hope today will be a nice NSD, instead of spending money I shall spend quality time with DH.
To start the day, I am planning to make a nice big nutritious breakfast, scrambled eggs with a side of HM baked beans in tomato sauce, then we have two freebie cinema tickets for a preview of "Testament of Youth", a film about WW1. It looks like it might be sad but also interesting and well made. Update to follow.
Then back home for lunch, probably veg soup and toast with a bit of cheese and a fruit, nice and simple.
As it is sunny, this afternoon I hope we will go to the allotment, as I urgently need to prune the vine before the sap starts rising, and it would ruin the plant if I cut it then. Am already quite late but still just in time. This will call for the preparation of a mahoosive tea flask!
Dinner, not sure what, but it might have to be a vege something out of the freezer.
Hope you all have a good OS Sunday. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
