If this is some way of enticing customers back, oh dear. Aldi use trolley locks. Their sales seem to be doing just fine.

If Morrisons just had one trolley area and got rid of those in the car parks they could save the £10-15m a year spent on staff who move trolleys around.

If anyone from Morrisons reads this and goes through with it I want 10% of the savings as its my idea!

I went to my non-usual M's this morning and noticed they didn't have them on.
I thought it a bit weird being so close to houses, and wondered how many they'd have left in a month?!

I dread to think what will happen at our local Morrisons, because it is right next to a river, and at low tide it is like a rubbish tip, full of the various things the "Chavs" have thrown in to keep themselves amused:(
There will be so many shopping trollies in there, that the river authority will have to put out marker bouys to keep the boats safe:eek:

They did say they would be keeping the locks for certain stores.

Obviously they couldn't come out and say they would keep the locks for stores frequented by "Chavs". Otherwise it would upset all the customers in stores that keep the locks.

There is a Sainsburys about 15 miles from here and its next to a river and a housing estate. Since the introduction of the pound locks, they have seen a dramatic fall in abandoned trolleys.

Though I have seen abandoned trolleys in Tesco car parks with the £1 coin inside and I have pushed the trollies to trolley parks and pocketed the £1.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've been to some supermarkets that don't have locks on trolleys but the trolleys have a device on one of the wheels that makes them lock up if they are pushed past a boundary. It means trolleys aren't wheeled off and you don't need a pound coin either - win win.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

My local tesco has signs up saying the trolleys won't go past that point, but they do.

Luckily I live in a place that does not have "trolley problems".

Don't like your idea, as when it comes to putting the trolley back, the trolley areas in the car parks are so much closer to the car.
