i dont think showing people the consequences of the action ever really work because they mostly believe that they are far too skilled and observant as a driver.. they can deffinately handle both so the consequences wont happen to them it happens to the stupid0

Exactly. Every one thinks they're a good driver and the dangers won't happen to them. Be it phones, speeding, whatever.i dont think showing people the consequences of the action ever really work because they mostly believe that they are far too skilled and observant as a driver.. they can deffinately handle both so the consequences wont happen to them it happens to the stupid
Let's not forget here that there is a big chance the driver on mobile will hit another driver, nobody thinks they'll be a victim of anothers' stupidity either.
It helps to be paranoid I think.
I did used to think that cars should be made like a Faraday cage or whatever that won't let a signal in. Except that wouldn't work! Or first port of call when "investigating" an incident is to check phone records for anything other than 999 or what have you. But how many stop anyway?
Also, seeing drivers on the phone as often as you do, I tried it while parked up - I can't even figure out how to drive a manual one handed around town! :rotfl:
I genuinely think nothing will change when it comes to driving with a phone in hand. A few will be caught, a few will crash and more and more people will be effected by someone's selfishness.0 -
Very sad film, illustrating as it does the illogicality of people in blaming those who are not to blame (parents) rather than the daft laws which permit children to drive cars.0

You having a giraffe? load sod people text and drive here. Usually they are easy to spot head down at the traffic lights and miss the lights changing to green or the motorway method of texting which seems to involve sitting in the middle lane and slow down to 40mph to send your text as its safer!
Hopefully Darwin will see to those loons and not take out too many innocent people.0 -
People will continue to use mobile phones because it's very rarely proven. Within the last year someone went into the back of a family members car because they were using their mobile phone and failed to react to someone doing something equally stupid (cutting across oncoming traffic to park). There was a witness, yet first of all the information wasn't passed on correctly then it was decided it wasn't worth pursuing.
The worst I've seen is someone in their 4x4 with what I assume to be their wife and young child in the back. Weaving steadily from the middle lane 1/3rd of the way to the outside lane and back. Speed all over the shop (they overtook then went slower).
After getting past has right hand above the steering wheel phone in hand trying to read / text something.
His child would be safer in a small car with his eyes on the road.0
