  • maybe if you focused on the road and not look at what other drivers are doing inside their cabin the roads will be a lot safer

You mean you don't look at other drivers for clues as to their intentions? Perhaps if you did the roads would be a lot safer.

Should be shown in every school, every college, every University, everywhere young people go. What a powerful, moving, tragic message.

Those who made it and starred in it, should be congratulated.

dream on, on the slowing moving M25 I look around and every other driver is on their mobile phone

I get texts/emails like this at work, when people are going to come in late they email the "everyone" account.
I refuse to do this, or even answer the phone if its calling when in the car - they can wait.

If I'm going to be delayed due to traffic then texting will delay me even more so I wont do it.

What is actually dangerous about talking on your phone while driving, the fact you have to use a hand to hold the phone?

Plenty of research on the subject, just having a conversation reduces your attention, let alone anything else..

My phone has an app -it's called DriveSafe.ly - which pauses the radio or other inputs and reads aloud my texts and e-mails - over the Bluetooth connection to the cars speakers.

London T - I don't think auto-transmission or long journeys or living in LA has anything to do with texting or anything else.

    You see.......

In that video, that's what people call "multi-tasking". BUT unfortunately "multi-tasking" is a myth, it is merely a process of doing multiple tasks badly, instead of concentrating fully on the most important task at hand.

It's a cultural problem, texting and using a phone behind the wheel will NEVER stop until we tackle this myth.

Unfortunately you can't argue with stupid.

These people know what the risks are, but for some reason think they're superior to everyone else it has happened to in the past and that it won't happen to them.

This was kinda my point. Surely the issue with using the phone while driving is the actual 'talking' bit rather than the 'holding' in which case hands free kits should be seen as dangerous. However this also in theory means that having a chat with someone in the car is also dangerous but could you really ban that?

I actually think I can talk and drive but then again I guess most people would say that. So far though my driving record is untarnished.

I do think that texting while driving is insane though but purely because it forces you to divert your eyes from the road, never a good thing.
