Just a quick update - I am trying to do something every day towork towards the ultimate goal.

I have now enrolled on a YNAB webinar on sunday afternoon. Perhaps I will get lucky and be given a free YNAB package as well as learning about budgeting and the software?

So - where are we so far? It seems to me that the weekend might be a suitable time to reflect.

    I have:-
    • Had my LBM and opened this diary
    • Downloaded a free demo of YNAB, learnt how to enter expenses via my phone / ipad and am itching to use this properly against the budget from 23rd July which is when I get paid.
    • Set up said budget - recognising social activities as well as expenses. I have also included payments towards one off bills such as Christmas, heating oil etc.
    • Enrolled on a YNAB webinar - tomorrow afternoon at 5pm
    • Started to collect things together for a table top sale next week.
    • Sold a couple of things on facebook
    • Have received a £10 gift voucher to be spent on items from the Home section of M & S - to be put in the Christmas present box
    • Won a bottle of wine in the free raffle last night - in the present box again
    • Helped out at a fund raising event last night and came home with a nearly full bottle of semi skimmed milk, two pieces of flapjacks and 4 jam tarts - helps to stretch the budget!
    • Have had 2 NSD's
I can't report any decrease / otherwise in the debt mountain yet - that happens when I review the totals on the 23rd - but just writing down these babysteps help me to recognise that I am taking control of the situation.

So - what's on for today - more tidying / sorting out items for the tabletop sale. Since its a craft themed tabletop I also want to make a few small items so that the table looks nice and attractive. I am planning to make some sets of fabric casters which are quick, easy, use up fabric that I have and which will also double as Christmas presents if they don't sell. Win Win! Keeping busy also means that it should be a LSD - the dogs need dog food and I need some fruit n veg.

I'm also out at the theatre tonight but its been paid for and its my friends turn to both drive and buy the ice cream in the interval.

    Hi Ninno

I've just been reading and wanted to say well done - its never too late.

Keep it up - I've subscribed so will pop back to see how you are doing.

Would like to know how the tabletop sale goes. I love crafts but never get a chance (or am too lazy to make the time) but hope to rectify that soon.

So - its a sunday and I have just come across another money making scheme - not hard cash but points towards amazon vouchers etc.

    Link to site :- www.receet.co.uk

    Referral code:- CtoW4R

If you are like me and keep all your receipts this looks a good one - its an app where you take a photo of your receipt and upload it - you then get 5 points for every £1 - or more if they are a silver / gold merchant. I've just spent around 20 mins doing it and think that I have enough for a £5 amazon voucher. if this is on the level then this could be a very lucrative tool!

Otherwise today is more tidying and sorting for the tabletop sale - with a little crafting thrown in for good measure.

  • Not sure if you've heard of green redeem. A ridiculously easy way to gain points towards vouchers. You could either pm me so I could get referral points or just google and sign up yourself. So far I've had 3 x £5 off a £25 food spend in m&s.

So - thanks to In need of direction - I have just generated enough points for a £5 off a £25 spend at M & S - actually I have generated enough for two money off vouchers but the voucher expires at the end of august and it wouldn't be very mse to spend £70 at m & s just to get £10 off! I also do the mail rewards club and am approaching enough points for a large voucher for m& S so could combine the two.

Morning - wooh was yesterday mse mad - I made the money for the 2 money off vouchers, generated enough for an amazon voucher via receet, solda small item on facebook (although still waiting for the email to send a paypal invoice - will chase that up later) and attended two YNAB webinars and am brimming over with ways to organise my budget. Can really recommend the webinars - I thought that they might be a complete waste of time but they are really easy to follow with lots of pointers. Yesterday was also a NSD.

Today should be another NSD and I need to finish sorting my desk.
