-How long does it take you to commute to work?
-How much does it cost you?
-How far would you travel for work?

    - 20 - 25 Minutes. I ride a motorbike so even in heavy traffic the commute time is almost the same.
    - £6 a week petrol
    - Nowhere that would require public transport. Nothing over ~ 40 minute commute I expect.

When I was working full time I had an hour's drive each way but it was mostly motorway. Now I work three days a week and it's a 5-7 minute drive or 2.5mile walk. I mostly drive as there isn't a direct bus home and I'm too lazy to walk home as well! I love my job and my short commute and just couldn't face a long commute again. I spend about £5 a week on petrol but that's not just for commuting. I intend to stay in this job for as long as possible as the salary is great for part time, there's lots of benefits, the company are great and having such a short commute has freed up so much more time for other things.

I guess you have to balance salary and career expectations with personal life time and energy and figure out your priorities - sometimes it takes a longer commute to build your career and salary to the point where you can afford to move jobs or homes to have more time and money for yourself!

I have about a 5/10 min walk or 2min drive to work daily. Not sure how much that costs in petrol, not a lot I would imagine. My second job I work from home, so get travel expenses when I need to travel, its usually about 1.5hrs each way, sometimes more, sometimes less. This costs me the car & upkeep as my public transport & petrol is paid.

I would have travelled up to an hour & a half each day, but now Im in a position of zero travel expences and very little unpaid travel time Im relucant to give it up!! I've got far too used to it.
