Wow, I hope the wage is good having to shell out £40-50 for the commute!
My commute is via tram, it takes me 15-20 minutes and costs me about £3 a day...0 -
100 miles each way; 9 miles car, 89 miles train, 2 miles tube.
Cost is ~£850/month.
Takes around 1h50m each way door-to-desk.0 -

Five minute walk, thankfully.0

I live about 8 miles from work and cycle in, takes me 25-30mins, and doesn't cost me a penny.
I don't really care how far the commute is, i'm more concernd with the time it takes, i wouldn't want to commute more than an hour each way0 -
Two minute walk. No costs apart from the sweets from the corner shop.
The job I had before this one was a minimum of an hour and a half drive, so this is a real change. It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -
2.5hrs each way door to door, monthly season ticket cost is around £425/month I think.
Only do it 3 days a week for the last 3 years, but that doesn't affect the cost as it's about £54 a day for a return so would still cost more. did it 4-5 days a week for a few years before that, but it got a bit unsustainable.0 -
4.2k for train costs, plus a bit of petrol and occasional parking charges
Takes approx an hour and 20 minutes - car to near the station, train in, bus, then walk
Wouldn't be so bad if it was just one transport type door to door!Yes Your Dukeiness0 -

I'm a self-employed chauffeur and private hire driver.
My client lives 11 miles away, which can take between 20 and 45 minutes to get to this home, depeding on whether I need to pick him up at 6 in the morning, or 6 in the evening.
If I do other private hire work for other firms, quite often picks up would be at either Heathrow Airport or Central London (10-15 miles - depending on terminal/where in Central London, 30-60 mins away, obviously dependent on time of day).
It's convenient living where I am, wouldn't want to travel any further, for either my client or other work. Besides all business related motoring expenditure is tax relief'd anyway.0
