If you add a little butter and salt and pepper to your (lightly) boiled cabbage, I promise you , it will be transformed!!

    Does he like chinese food?

Not healthy, but shred it up and deep fry it for a few minutes, then sprinkle with a little chinese five spice. That's all that 'crispy seaweed' is anyway.

No idea about lasagne, as I'm allergic to tomatoes. But I quite often put cabbage in curry, it's okay, but it's still identifiably cabbage if you see what I mean, so not sure if it would work.

Will he not even give it a shot cooked in different ways? My OH used to refuse cabbage, sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower... now they're his favourite veg :D All it took was showing him there's other ways of cooking them than boiling the carp out of them like his darling mother did ;)

If he's relatively open minded, what about something like this or putting a little in fishcakes, risotto or the like?
  • chop it up to make Chicken Sag curry
Bubble and squeak- just mash & cabbage, a little butter, sal, pepper made into burger shapes and baked/panfried.
chop into strips and mix with rice then use as a base for a casserole
    cabbage bhaji
chop into a cheese sauce with a shredded cod steak, top with mash for a fish pie
make burritos but substitute cooked, shredded cabbage for lettuce
chop and fry with onion as a side dish for steak
do the above but add other veg & cheese sauce plus pasta for a veggie bake - top with bacon if not veggie
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, its just possible you haven't grasped the situation ;)
  • I make a dish that the kids love but they don't like cabbage??

Layer of mashed potato in a casserole dish then a layer of cabbage and leeks (i chop it quite small) , then a layer of sausages, on the top thin layer of mash and grated cheese on top kids love it but wont have it that it is cabbage! Its lovely and filling for the winter.
