its nice to shred a dark green cabbage and sitr fry it in lots of butter (with some bacon or lardons if you can afford them too)0

I like red cabbage, sliced and cooked as most posters above, but with a tablespoon of redcurrant jelly and a glug of balsamic vinegar added to the pan in the last 5 minutes of cooking time.
Chop some apple in there too, if you have some. Lovely0 -

Depending on what i am having it with, i chop it up into slithers, removing the stem bits and then either boil it until desired crunchy/softness, or i pop it in a frying pan with some chicken stock and essentially steam it0

white cabbage I cook with pepper and butter as previous poster said. but - its best for coleslaw. i slice mine thinly (after removing stalk) then add thinly sliced onion - coarse grated carrot - and fifty fity mayo and salad cream. salt and pepper.0

However I often make ribollita soup / broth using a Waitrose recipe, main ingredients are cabbage & beans
I omit the garlic [can't stand it] and bacon
