  • Thanks Sue for agreeing to open my pot up in October. I. Will keep you posted when I open it up.

Potting now a days is becoming difficult. We came to know we are expecting a baby girl and I can't stop myself buying cute dresses for the baby every time I go out. I need to stop doing that.

Hugs jakes-mum about your ear ache hope the doctors will be able to give you some relief tomorrow.

Work starting tomorrow after 6 weeks of summer holidays and I feel so :( thinking about it.

    Ok - I'll admit it -
I PUT THE NEW RADIATORS ON !! AND THEY'RE GOOD !!
Well, !!!!!!, it's bl**dy cold and why have them if I don't use them.

In my new place I'm on a key meter, as I can now see the money trickling away I'm so much more aware of the electric usage. I REFUSE to put the heating on and have been going to bed with a hot water bottle (and snuggled up to the dog, which helps :rotfl:)
I'm considering a personal challenge to see how long I can resist putting on the heating.

I have a serious issue with my weight, in that I can't put it on and am so underweight the dietitian was threatening to tube feed me at night! I've been on a sugar 'diet' for about a year now, have to have sugar in and on everything (thankfully have put on 10lbs in the year :j :j)! When we were talking about it, one of DH's overweight relatives said 'oh I wish I had your problem!' . . . umm really? you really wish you were in threat of being tube fed? you really wish you were so weak from your lack of weight you can spend months stuck in your chair unable to get out of the house? enjoying blackouts and nausea everytime you stand up . . . ahh no, what you meant was you wish you could eat chocolate all day and not gain weight., which is not really what my 'problem' is, is it? Surprisingly, she too did not want to swap places with me when offered.

And between you, me and the gatepost, I am fed up to the back teeth with sweets! eating them constantly for months on end is not as great as people think, its just like any other diet, you get sick of the sight of it! I actually crave bread and butter :rotfl:

People just don't get how much a disability takes over your life, whether its your own or a family members, it becomes your life, everything you do accomodates it (that wasn't the best choice of word there but I couldn't think of another one! stupid brain and rubbish memory). My mum doesn't even live with us and even she finds she makes choices to work around my needs

    ^^^^THIS THIS THIS^^^:j:j

I have exactly the same problems. I really struggle to put weight on. Maintaining the weight that I do put on is equally as difficult. Soooo many people "wish I had your problem" but, like you, I would be more than happy to swap a day with them. They would be throwing it back at me before the morning was over. One GP said to me "Just eat cream cakes all the time." Like it is that easy. Another GP asked "Are you anorexic?" Another "Do you take drugs? Are you sure you don't?" (granted, that was before I was diagnosed, but still). I had a goal to put on a certain amount of weight during 2014. I hit that goal last week (I am so incredibly proud of myself but struggling to maintain it). One of my friends said to me "I know how hard that is for you so bl**dy well done!" The way she said it was quite patronising (although probably not intended that way) and so I am just waiting for her to tell me she has lost a stone so I can say "I know how hard that is for you so bl**dy well done!" *climbs back off high horse*

In SPC news, I have 3 coins in my purse. Think it is £1 and two coppers. I will pot them when I get home :)
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000

    I've been Money Tipped!
Morning all, definitely Autumn!! Fingers crossed for that Indian Summer.

Meowhouse - sorry to hear of the sad news. Enjoy the moments.

x_raphael_xx - I think I'll join you in that challenge. I'm off on hols at the end of October and aiming for no heating on until then (9 weeks - lol). I'm on a direct debit and should be well in front and in credit. Well hopefully!!

I found a £1 coin in the bathroom (of all places) - potted.

Any chance I can be added to this list? Only just started a money pot, so not got much in it at the moment, but hoping this will keep me motivated. Plan on putting any change at the end of each day into an unsealed pot, then on the 10th of each month I'll empty it into my main pot and post how much I managed to put away each month.

I have a Comrade in arms!! :T

Ahh the 'your anorexic' reply, I got put in hospital for 3 days so they could prove to me I either wasn't eating, or was throwing everything up . . . 3 days later a body building dietitian came in, looked at me like I was from another planet and said 'where do you put it? you eat more than me!', I said 'I know! now you understand why I keep asking everyone what the he** is wrong with me!'

Am not happy, as got on the scales yesterday and had dropped back under 9st  I'm only weighing once a month now as was getting quite demoralised by that stupid dial not saying what I wanted it to say :o

Just to top my week of moaning off, woke up this morning to find my SIL had nominated me for the ice bucket challenge, DH was not happy I decided to do it (cold water and someone who cant regulate their body temp is not a good mix . . . ) omg, it was cold! even getting in the shower immediately hasn't saved me from being freezing for the last 3 hrs, am slowly warming up though and hoping to avoid any subsequent illness from being so darn stupid and stubborn :rotfl: . . why break the habit of a lifetime eh? :rotfl:

Been Docs about my ear and have got to put drops in for the next week, if it doesn't clear up have to go back and be referred to the ear nose and throat clinic as it seems they are more concerned about problems when they are only on one side, and she also said it might not have been my best decision to 1) take 4 months to go and 2) never go in about the tinnitus I get in the same ear :o what can I say? im not known for my common sense :D

A quid in change into the pot today :T, still got room (even more room since DH decided to shake the carp out of the tin! does he not know what im trying to accomplish here?!?!)

Good luck with your challenge. Unfortunately I live in an apartment that faces east on the Forth of Firth and there has been a frost on the hills for the last three nights. I am warm in bed (huge duvet) but cold in the sitting room. Not put storage heaters on yet as sunny in the mornings but the 2 radiators in the evenings means I can eat my supper and go on the laptop or read comfortably :D
    House-kill of 50 p under the bed - pot !!

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday
