75p for the pot today, try and save "something" each day for this challenge as its only me who loses out if I spend the money instead.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

25p in the pot today, bit ruffled as went to the shop today with DD and parked in disabled as always, an older woman with a limp walked past my car and was staring at me while I put my badge in the window. Followed her into the shop talking to DD and she kept turning round and glaring at me, as I walked past she muttered something under her breath.
It wasn't till I got to the sweet aisle that I realised she was probably making a comment about able bodied people and disabled parking. Thinking back I should have stopped and asked her what she said as I was the only person near her.
If it was about her opinion on my abilities, it was probably a good job I didn't confront her as I would have let her have it with both barrels, very loudly in the shop, putting myself in the wrong. Its not the first time i've had some stranger think they can deduce my physical health by my age, my lack of wheelchair (at the time) and the fact I have young children. I'd like to say its different when the mobility scooter comes out the boot, but unfortunately not always, there are still those who believe your lazy and can't be bothered to walk
Anyway, enough moaning, must put it from my mind, I cannot control others predjudices but I can control my reaction to them! Rise above it and move on, its their problem not mine.SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Well done Jakes-Mum on being the better person and rising above the situation. Its easy to judge other people when you don't walk in their shoes, and some people have no understanding, empathy or good grace. I don't work Saturdays at work (my contract has fixed hours but most of my colleagues were "encouraged" to volunteer) - I was approached but as I'm primary carer for my disabled ds, I pointed out that I wasn't aware of any charities that would look after him. One of my "friends"at work said I was lucky that I could pull the disability card....... to which I pointed out that she was welcome to swop lives for a single day and I would willingly work her Saturday (funnily enough she declined and had the good grace to look ashamed) but I was ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Ahh AlwaysHappy, thats just awful! People like that make me fume!, yes the disability card, that we only whip out when we want to get out of doing something!
I have a serious issue with my weight, in that I can't put it on and am so underweight the dietitian was threatening to tube feed me at night! I've been on a sugar 'diet' for about a year now, have to have sugar in and on everything (thankfully have put on 10lbs in the year :j :j)! When we were talking about it, one of DH's overweight relatives said 'oh I wish I had your problem!' . . . umm really? you really wish you were in threat of being tube fed? you really wish you were so weak from your lack of weight you can spend months stuck in your chair unable to get out of the house? enjoying blackouts and nausea everytime you stand up . . . ahh no, what you meant was you wish you could eat chocolate all day and not gain weight., which is not really what my 'problem' is, is it? Surprisingly, she too did not want to swap places with me when offered.
And between you, me and the gatepost, I am fed up to the back teeth with sweets! eating them constantly for months on end is not as great as people think, its just like any other diet, you get sick of the sight of it! I actually crave bread and butter :rotfl:
People just don't get how much a disability takes over your life, whether its your own or a family members, it becomes your life, everything you do accomodates it (that wasn't the best choice of word there but I couldn't think of another one! stupid brain and rubbish memory). My mum doesn't even live with us and even she finds she makes choices to work around my needs
*tries to now desperately think of something SPC related to end post to keep in Sue-uu's good books and not get in trouble for going off topic . . . . fails miserably* . . . umm on potting news . . . picked up my pot, its very heavySPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
AlwaysHappy, I think some people open their mouths before putting their brains into gear. Do as jakes-mum did and rise above it. NOBODY knows what other people have to cope with on a daily basis. Well done you...
Anyway, I popped in to say just 60p left for the pot this week. Almost a whole week to go before payday too...eeek!Sealed Pot Challenge #012

Potted my weekly £7 and an odd 5p 'housekill' I found on the floor (well it didn't say it wasn't mine)
Hope you all have a great bank holiday as doesn't apply in our household as we are both working. However, the weather's so carp that we wouldn't have been going anywhere anyway :rotfl:
