£2.05 added to the pot today - its lovely to feel those heavy pots, it will be quite sad for a while when we start again.
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

Hi everyone and thank you all so much for your lovely words to sparky, I promise you all that I'll definitely be passing on your love and best wishes to sparky, and for Mrs S to get well soon when I write to him tomorrow. Many thanks to those of you who, by quoting my post re sparky, passed the news swiftly on to most of those of us who have come to know him so well during these last 7 years, he'll be so appreciative. By golly, it's nearly 8 years since SPC started........so, lets keep this thread and our savings going!!! :j

Can't believe it's been so long since I've posted, shamed to admit my potting has dwindled, not helped by the fact I've been on emergency tax has meant my wage has been less than in my old job but hopefully that'll be sorted next pay day! Anyone know if I'll get this as a lump sum or in my wages for the next few months?

I passed my Masters and graduate the day after our grand pot openings! Started new job and had both HMIE (Scottish OFSTED) and Care Inspectorate in for inspections! My new local authority also agreed to let me to the headship course I got on before the job interview! Sadly tax situation has meant I've reached for the CC so tightening my belt before that goes too much awry! Off to see what's lurking in my purse for potting.

Many congratulations to you on your fantastic news, Hope!!!! :T Re the sorting out of the emergency tax, it always used to be paid back in a lump sum, but whether that's still the case now I really don't know. Best wishes with it, sorting your CC too. :)

Well, Saver-upper - you CAN'T open your pot, can't open your pot, can't can't can't can't CAN'T open your pot!!!!! :p I say this every year, but....treat it like an unexploded bomb. After potting each bit of change gently tip toe away, be careful mind :shhh:, and leave it to quietly wait until the 27th November and all will be well. ;) Be patient just like jakes-mum [STRIKE]never[/STRIKE] is.

Hello there, ChristmasCarol!! It really is good to see you back here, saving well as always! Keep it going.
........it will be quite sad for a while when we start again

No to worry about it, AlwaysHappy, most of us do at least keep a little of our money back to start it off again next day. One way of looking at it is - save as much as possible as quickly as possible to start hearing it clinking again rather than clunking!

Ooooh Lynsey, just look at your last line  do you know summat we don't?!!!

Well everyone, Mr UU & I had a little luck on the lottery on Saturday so £25 extra has gone in the pot today!!!!! We're both chuffed to bits. :happyhear
Have a lovely Thursday, folks, keep saving HARD, and remember - from tomorrow there's only......6 weeks left!!

Really bored today :( don't feel motivated to do very much. Washing is done already and I have done some de-cluttering earlier in the week.

Sorted out my life insurance, and sold my son's pram for £100, was about time he is 7 1/2 and its been stuck in the loft since he was 6 months old.

Watched the Horizon program on the Ebola virus, feel a bit depressed now.

Hopefully I can go back to work on Monday, chest is getting better at last.

Nothing to pot, NSD again, feel like I'm under house arrest :)

Could do my Xmas shopping online I suppose, I know what I'm getting my Mum but thats about it though.
