The majority of the pictures look better but I agree with other posters - take a better picture of the spare room or, better, leave out the spare room altogether and replace with one of the bathroom. Think the living room looks better and definitely shows off the fireplace well. Main bedroom looks very floaty and relaxing!

The good news is that we already have a couple of viewings booked since the new pics and the price change on Tues... so fingers crossed someone will put an offer in soon!
We've seen another house that would suit us too so that's two we like now... its so frustrating!

That's great! Let us know how they go and try and get decent feedback from the EA.

    Hi Sally,

Great news abouth the viewings. It just goes to show that being poractive can really pay off. Like the above poster says make the EA aware beforehand that you will be wanting proper feedback on the house.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that all goes well :D

    Hi again,

Just wanted to let you all know that we accepted an offer on the house over the weekend from a couple, first time buyers, ready to go... yay!
Now we just need to find a house to move to... argh...

Thanks to everyone that offered advice - much appreciated...

    Cheers,
    Sal

should I spend more money on improvements to the house - i.e. the kitchen is quite old and could do with updating - or should I lower the price on the house.

    Thanks!
Don't spend money on it. For me I'd rather see the kitchen as it is - knowing I could buy my own new kitchen if/when I wanted. Rather than being "stuck" with the one you chose.

If the kitchen is THAT bad, I guess replacing the doors and splashing some paint around would go a long way.

I painted mine white. Everybody commented how great it looked. How big, spacious, large, bright, light, wonderful it was.... white paint - cheap as chips.

    The problems might be:
    1) Uncertainty in the marketplace - people are not committing themselves as they think prices are about to drop
    2) Price.

Do you know anybody that lives in a similar house that could come round to do a "mock viewing" for you? Get them to come round and speak frankly (yes, rudely at you) as they wander round and tell you what they're seeing/thinking. Just don't fall out with them when they say your curtains are minging, your house smells and your colour schemes suck. They would be doing you a favour as they would be seeing it from a "buyer's eyes"
