Beautiful Pigpen - the dress and Pixie. I can't beleive how much she's grown!
Several tadpoles munched. Two more to do and then I can start the filing. One may be a full-grown Frog already which I'd be unhappy about.Better is good enough.0 -
I'm in as best I can manage this week. I have a new doglet coming for a two-night trial stay later today; she's a new customer to the franchise, so is doing a two-nighter to see how she manages away from her own humans, before her planned three-week holiday in August. Flylady dog-settling-in vibes appreciated.;)
Bossy I'm carrying my June challenge over to July, please; the idea was to reduce my Toots/Frog list by 5 items; it started at 23, so the hope is to have no more than 18 on it by 31 July. I did get rid of 2, but another 2 have made their wayon, despite my best efforts at catching tadpoles, so it's still standing at 23 right now.:( In fairness, the new 2 are things Mr LW needs to take care of, so a bit beyond my control. But I still want it down to 18 by the end of this month.:o
I need to offload, as I have no-one here to talk to.... feel free to skip this bit.
Mr LW has picked up his "open referral" letter from the surgery, spoken to his immediate boss, and has called the health plan people. Latest news is they will source a surgeon for him, and call him back, he says by close of business tomorrow; probably he'll have to have tests and whatnot, but it's all getting under way to get his hernia sorted (this is actually one of "his" Frogs!) Yes, I know it's progress, and it's what needs to happen, and it's thus far all going as smoothly as possible, but I feel physically sick thinking about it.:(
On the positive side, I've been thinking about the logistics of how I'll cope if he has to be in overnight, and/or is very restricted as to what he can do - as it's summer, I think the best thing is for me to live in kaftans for a few days, as I can hopefully scramble into those myself; and I'll need to ensure the freezer and cupboards are stocked, as I won't be able to shop. The only problem might be milk - we go through about 12 pints a week! If we're desperate though, I do have a carton of dried milk we can fall back on.
I've also emailed him my dog-sitting schedule - if the actual op can be done when I have Bailey & Cassie here, as they're old friends and settle in easily, I can cope with them by myself with no problem, and if he needs to be in overnight, they're both large and have big barks, so good for making me feel safe without him here.
More Flylady vibes would be appreciated if you can spare them.;)
Of today's lists, almost all are covered (a lot done yesterday as it happens) ; I just need to throw a duster around before Jessie Labradoodle arrives (not my usual Jessie, just the same name). If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
That sounds like you're in full-on Worry Mode, Lamewolf. So, (((hugs))) for that, and posi-vibes for the trial dog-sitting. (Three week booking - nice.)
Regarding milk, have longlife milk for making yoghurt. Whereas longlife used to taste really disgusting when I tried some recently, it was really okay. Have you tried Longlife recently? It might solve one of your concerns.Better is good enough.0 -
Wm and dw both been on. Been and got hen feed and dog food and a few other treats for the dogs.
Plan now is to take into the boys toys and bin whatever is broke, means it can be taken to the tip in the morning.
Really could do with a good boot up the backside, very go slow here.“Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet, cherish it.”0 -
HB you're a genius! I have so much carp going round and round in my head that I'd forgotten the existence of long life milk!:D Thanks for that!:A
As for worry mode - you're perfectly correct. I'm one of those people that if I'm not worrying about something, I worry because I must've overlooked something I should be worrying about, iyswim.:eek:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Pixie looks delightful, Pigpen. I can just imagine you turning your back after taking that picture and the little madam picking up her skirts and racing off outside to watch the washing machine drain :rotfl: Hope you got the dress off her first!
Ranting and offloading is positively allowed on Flylady, as is anything else that's not illegal, immoral or fattening.
Positive vibes heading your way, LW. I was going to suggest longlife milk myself, if HB hadn't got in quicker. One extra tip might be to have a carton of longlife on the go at the same time as last remaining bottle of your normal milk, and to mix small amounts of both in a jug; gradual changing the proportions of the mix so that you start with mostly normal milk and a dash of longlife, go to half-and-half, and end up with mostly longlife before you have to change over completely. Your tastebuds can quickly become accustomed to rthe change - if they even notice it. As Honey Bear says, longlife milk is much nicer now than it used to be - I can hardly tell the difference and always keep a few packets in stock.
Have managed to cross off a few things from my list. Must get my brain in gear for an hour - maybe less if I concentrate properly - and finish off the leader's notes. The sun has disappeared behind clouds so there is less glare than is usual on sunny afternoons in the study/bedroom where I'm working. Our house is very cool downstairs, with most of the windows shut, and upstairs there is a refreshing draught through from front to back with all the dormer windows open - but not far enough to allow the NDN's cat to get in. I like summer, but not when it's too hot to do anything.
See you all later...0 -
Yay! Thanks for the new thread. I got a little confused last week and my house is looking a mess because of it! I didn't have time to do my own lists so randomly tried to stay on top of things. Having the lists done for me (which I can tweak if needed) works much better for me ☺️Grocery challenge-

Hi back from vol job and about to find what's left of my list.
Think it is another phone call and banking/spreadsheet sorting.
Just having a drink and putting my feet up. it's really warm here today so three hours book sorting is totally exhausting!!!
If it's gone it's done -
[STRIKE]Catch up with washing[/STRIKE] one on 1 to go
[STRIKE]Sort stuff to take back Friday[/STRIKE] another bag of do you still want these clothes - 1 to go!
Banking balances - [STRIKE]got statement[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]WUDUPA[/STRIKE] - DW to empty and PA handwashed stuff
Dust through.
Important call - 2
Then a half hour run through the house moving things to their correct places and collapse!!!
Have a good evening.July 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200

Done
Carpet - Henry has been for a short walk - but there is more to do
Dressing table/chest of drawers - is being worked on - ornaments, jewellery and make-up etc. taken off and dusted - ready to go back on when dt/cod is cleaner, but am having problems with taking drawers out, so having had a sit down and a cuppa, will now return to it refreshed.
Window flung open
1 lot of laundry (bed clothes have been taken off, but are still to be done)
To Do
More Henrying after floor has been cleared
Clean mirror and window
Make bed
Books back into bookcase
And as it worked well last week, follow instructions for decluttering from Karen Kingston's book
Back from official socialising which I actually enjoyed for once. A 15 min journey and a very tasty and filling lasagne to eat (think it might have been "home"made - it was that good), with chunky chips and salad garnish. Generous portion size as well, as were all the other meals, so much so in fact that not one of us had dessert, but did have Ts & Cs (teas and coffees, not terms and conditions!)
Anyway, back to the bedroom and mustn't forget to print off documents for PCC.0
