Hi All - and Happy New Year!
I'm not too sure where last year actually went.... a friend of mine has just taken off in a plane returning from 1 years travelling (they left a year ago tomorrow) and it seems like they only left a week or so ago!
So, looking ahead for 2020... what's on the agenda that I know about already....- all the usual families birthdays... but DSS's 18th in 8 days!
- My BIG birthday at the end of March.
- A long weekend in Cardiff in either May, June or September with the girls. now confirmed for July
- A summer holiday.... somewhere at some time
- Still need a new bed and mattress + I want a new bedroom carpet.
- We NEED to decorate the lounge, kitchen and bathroom, but I am hoping to get the landlord to contribute towards this!
- Self care = BIG priority. I do tend to squeeze my 'care' time in and around everyone and everything else.. this has to stop! If I look after myself, I can look after everyone else.
- Buy less stuff - have more adventures! Not necessarily BIG adventures, but coupled with being a little more social (I definitely have homely-hermitlike tendancies which is why the house needs to be decorated!) I think we can have some adventures this year. (We received 4 activity vouchers at Christmas, so plan on getting those booked in throughout the year to give us little things to look forward too and potentially add other bits on to!)
- Drink less, eat healthily and exercise more! Wouldn't be new years resolutions if I didn't include these, right?
- Be money aware / make conscious decisions on spending.
Wishing you all a fab 2020! xxxstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Kinda taken my eye of the home broadband/phone/TV package over the last year or so... a quick check has shown that I am out of contract with VM. Need to do some research to decide what to do. I like them as their BB is truly unlimited and if DSS is gaming our usage is..... colossal! Maybe I can downgrade our TV package and save some pennies there? Something to look at over the next week or so!start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Just an update to say 5 of the 6 fleabay items I listed way back last year have sold.
I like the new sellling format where the listing keeps renewing until it sells. We've returned around £120 on stuff OH was adamant wouldn't sell.... when will he learn I'm right!!?
Not much else to update - We survived February! The shortest month not long after xmas is one of my most expensive in the year!Got my fingers crossed we can travel at the end of the month for my birthday get away.I finally got round to slinging some money into my P.Bonds. My lovely spreadsheet tells me I should really be able to do the same every couple of months. I should have done it ages ago... I guess the novelty of having a + balance in all my accounts took longer to wear off than I anticipated.I'm currently battling with a balding catOver-grooming due to anxiety is the cause. A cat-calming plugin has been activated... hoping it works or she'll be off to the vets for some medication.... poor thing, she looks sooo straggly!
I think that is it.... oh, I MUST by my own weight in toilet rolls and pasta on the way home tonight! NOT!!start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Aww honey your poor bald puss, hair loss is such an emotional thing!
Glad you are not buying into the toilet roll thing, a quick hand stand in the shower with a scissor leg action will sort you out
Where are you going for your... uhm let me see must be at least your 70th by now, I think I remember your 30th....LBM- finally kicked in 16/12/08 @ [strike]£41,862 [/strike] £0.00/ DFD- 24/12/13
