Circle log-in details were found and money withdrawn.

11 days until payday - I just want to know what my new wage is (I have approximated it using a calculator thing... but I like it to the penny!)

Project shed underway - new concrete base poured last Friday.... it has a lovely set of cat prints running across it! Shed due by the end of the month! Yay! But also  and :o as it is going to be a huge chunk of money coming out the Account and it does make me want to cry just a little! Oh well!

CC paid as planned - So little stress in this now! I could honestly kick myself for not implementing this earlier!

And that is pretty much it from me. Nothing exciting!

Just picked up an email from Pro.Ac to say that they will no longer be using Circle for withdrawals, so been in and removed all my Account / card details. Leaving it active though as it may be needed in the future.

1 week to pay day! Although a 4 week month pay-wise it seems to have gone on for EVER!

    Plans for tonight onwards...

    Aerial silks class tonight
    Work tomorrow

And that's all that's planned - I am sure by the time the weekend actually gets underway there will be a lot more on the agenda! lol

Have a great weekend all - here's to some sunshine! x

2 days to pay day... but payslip just received!! YAY!

I wasn't far out in my new pay estimation - although it is really disappointing to see how much of a pay increase you actually get as physical cash in the bank (obviously there is increased tax, NI, pension contributions!). Oh well, not to be sneezed at.

I used an online calculator to see if I would be better off adding more to my pension or opening a LISA. It came back that either would give me exactly the same benefit at retirement, although I could use the LISA towards buying a house. So now I am even more torn... do I put more into my pension or a LISA. Any words of wisdom anyone?

  • Morning All! I really can't believe that I have been MIA for almost 5 months!

I have been here and reading - there's just been nothing remotely interesting to report!

A summary of vaguely interesting things that have happened since June...
    • New shed and fencing all installed and paid for from savings - garden looks so much better! I can't believe we have almost filled a 16ft x 7ft shed though!! Work is still under way to clear through 'stuff' in the house and loft; items are either being binned (not much), sent to CS, boxed for bootfairing or being re-boxed to go in the loft! This will continue l o n g into next year!
    • Had a lovely week away back in September down in the west country. It rained... a lot! But it was just the battery re-charge we both needed.
    • CC has been paid in full, on time every month. Getting that fixed amount from OH every month has definitely been the way forward!!
    • My employer submitted an incorrect value to the tax man, so my tax code has been wrong (not in my favour) since August - hoping this will be sorted soon.
    • Currently in 'project - eat through the freezer' mode. Need to create room for the upcoming festive period!
    • Not managed many surveys! :(
    • Cats both well. Although I did have to rescue one cornered by a fox a few weeks back!!
    • Still going to my weekly aerial class.
    • Just switched G&E supplier - fixed tariff due to expire 30/11.. have hung on for their latest fix and switched this morning! Should save us £10/month through until Set 2021!
    Things to think about....
    • Need a new bed - hoping to get away without a new mattress as its only 4 years old.
    • I think it would make sense to change the bedroom carpet when we do the bed... don't fancy trying to navigate a KS bed if we decide to do it in a year or so's time.
    • Need new sofa - Ours is 16 years old... and the cats have really gone to town on it!
    • I have a BIG birthday next year - I think an anti-gravity flight in the USA is out of the question though :(
    • Festive shopping needs to done!
Well, I think that's pretty much me up to date.

    Hope you are all well?

Hi LT - It hasn't been a bad few months all in all! :)

I had a days annual leave yesterday - I spent the whole day re-arranging cupboard contents (think hanging clothes, clothes in drawers and about a shops worth of shoes). End result was 1 boot-full of goods duly delivered to the local CS and about the same again at the tip. 6 Items were listed on fleabay last night and 2 have sold already this morning totalling £78.50 (fees and postage to come out of this). Not to shabby me thinks x

Just received this months payslip! :)

Unfortunately my tax code is still incorrect - not bad considering HRMC are supposed to react within 30 days and it's now been more like 50!!

    Hi All!

Just a few more hours to go and my working year is over! Thank goodness - it's been a bit of a mad one!

C-mas virtually all sorted - just OH's bits to wrap, the turkey and salad to collect and deliver my parents and brothers families presents.

Final payslip for the year received - money due to hit tomorrow. A nice little bonus in there which is gratefully received (and well earned even if I say so myself!) ;)

So, this is it from me until 2020. I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy debt-busting new year! For those that are struggling to clear their debts, please remember that it won't be forever and if you need it, I am sure you'll find renewed DFW energy in the new year. Take time to appreciate what you do have!
