Happy Nats….. OH paid the CC last night! WHOOP WHOOP!
I have set my payment up to go out 3 days before it is due = and, breathe!
Still nothing from the G&E company. Pah!
3 weeks until payday! Boo:(start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Hurray!:j
Did he set up the agreed SO at the same time? Lol
The good thing about being paid 4-weekly is it feels like it comes around really fast! (You also don't have the dreaded 6 or 7 weeks between December and January income)

No - but I said to leave it until I have a chance to look through his spreadsheet, so no-one to blame apart from myself. The last thing I want to do is over commit him financially and it all go wrong! I need to make sure it is 'just right' so it works from day one! I'd really like to think that leaving him around £100 a week to do what he likes with should be MORE than enough! But it is early days budgeting-wise for him and I don't want to push my luck too far (a small part of me is hoping he won't spend all I leave in his account -but I expect he will).start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

It's Friday!
I used to be sooo excited for Fridays back when we were paid weekly - I did worry slightly about changing to monthly, but it was okay in the end (must be 2 years now since we changed!) I don't think I could do it without my trusted spreadsheet though!
In other news... Looked at OH's spreadsheet last night and a monthly SO for £800 is perfectly achievable. Discussed it with OH and he seems to think that it will "leave him with too much money in his current Account!" And it does... there's NO WAY is would allow myself around £100 a week to do whatever I want with. But as I said yesterday this is early days for budgeting for OH and I don't want him to feel like I am being too harsh and he feels hard done by. We will have another chat over the weekend - if he wants to up his SO or increase his contribution (which I will then match) into the holiday Account (or wants to set up a separate fund for car maintenance / insurance etc. which I will also match) then we'll do that as a separate SO so he knows what is going where! I do wish OH was a natural born saver instead of spender!! lol
This morning I received my email from my new G&E company - online registration completed so tonight I need to read the meters and submit meter readings to both suppliers - switch date still the 14th!
I have booked 3 more days holiday over the next few weeks. 1.5 days left to book, will probably need part of this for the carpet to be laid!
Plans for the weekend...
Tonights dinner is sorted - YS beef and stilton pies with mash and veg (saves on a takeaway!)
Work tomorrow morning then home to plough on with decorating. Need to choose wall paint colours and get paint on way home.
Decorating is the main theme of the weekend. Sooo much still to do (and its only a small hall, stairs and landing!!)
Need to get to the carpet shop at some point over the weekend too as I have a feeling we may be pushing our luck to get the new carpet laid before Christmas.
Have financial 'chat' with OH and get him to set up the necessary SO's.
There is a special Armistice Day event being held on a local beach Sunday morning that I would like to go to... but OH is off on an airport run for a family member, so we will see (there are loads of these events on beaches on Sunday - if you are near the beach see if there is one near you... they are organised by the film maker Danny Boyle).
So, I think that is it. I will be back if anything remotely interesting pops into my head. If I'm not back, I hope you all have a lovely weekend xstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Morning All!
Monday has come back around again - a bit too quickly for my liking!
So... what is there to report?
Beef and stilton pies became Saturdays dinner - Friday saw the cheeky purchase of a bargain bucket!
Worked Saturday - chose and took home paint for hall/stairs/landing.
Got home to find OH attacking the walls with a sander. The walls had previously been painted in a 'rag roll' effect (not by us!!) and although I wanted to see if we could just paint over it leaving a textured finish, OH had decided that it would be much better to sand the walls down and have a nice smooth finish! Great in theory but it has highlighted how uneven the walls are under the textured paint. Oh well... got to roll with it now! Especially as I am still removing layers of dust from everywhere in the house.
Woodwork to above rooms given a patch paint of white to even out bits that OH managed to sand back to bare wood!
Measured hall, stairs and landing, popped to carpet shop and someone is coming to measure this Friday (I have the day booked off work to decorate already so this worked out well!)- apparently my measurements were not good enough, even though I had everything there that I know they want. He will also measure the bathroom and living room for use in the future! Hoping to get a carpet remnant as that will be the cheapest option. The good news is they can fit mid-Dec which gives us time to finish everything else! Carpet will be grey - which is good as virtually all the carpet in the shop was grey so there shouldn't be a lack of choice!
Need to read the G&E meters tonight... remembered Sat afternoon and then forgot until I drove out on my way to work this morning.
And that is me up to date I think. Have a great week everyone! xxxstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Ah! Forgot to mention that whilst looking for a pair of black trousers that OH was adamant he owned (…. he doesn't) I found a black bag full of DSS clothes. This was sorted through yesterday; the good stuff, (think branded 'sportswear' etc) in a new black bag and the really rubbish stuff went to the clothes recycling bank. I took it when I took the stair carpet that I ripped up!
The good stuff will either go on fleabay or we will take to a bootfair next spring/summer.
Oh, and just because it is still really bugging me I am really annoyed with one of my bosses. It really is a case of 'not what is said, but HOW it is said'. There are plans afoot for next year at work which will involve a new location. No plans about who or when, but during an unrelated discussion I was told in no uncertain terms that I wouldn't be moving. Which is fine - it is just the way is was said!! So, workwise I'll just focus my energy on this location and let the new plans bob along with minimal input / thought from me. Decorating update....
1 (very small) ceiling and wall painted last night! YAY!
G&E meters read and submitted online to both old and new suppliers. First DD for new supplier comes out tomorrow as they bill in advance.

Just moved £100 into the house Account to cover a potential double energy payment this month.
I have also just noticed that the 'reward' on one of my Accounts has reduced from £3 to £2. To be fair it would appear that they did send me a message about this back in July... but I hadn't read it.... along with 7 other messages. Oops.
Will have a scout about for a new bank Account as I am sure I can pick more than £24 a year in 'rewards'!!start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Wishing you all a lovely, decorating free weekend!
