That "Friday feeling" crept in at work this afternoon... so I did some online present buying. Nephews birthday or Christmas done, along with 2 more... £23.97 paid for 3 presents with £3.60 cashback tracked. Not too bad.

    Payday! Whoop!
Money in and moved accordingly + spreadsheet update which is lovely! :)
Weekend was.... interesting. Part of the landing flooring had got REALLY soft and I was worried that someone would fall through the floor/ceiling into the kitchen. I suggested that OH pulled up the carpet and investigated whilst I was at work. Floor now repaired (took a bit of working out how to fit t&g floor sheets into an existing area), even after OH managed to drill through a water pipe!! Landing carpet has gone (it must be 30 years old so hasn't done bad!) so I have decided to seize the opportunity to decorate the landing, stairs and hall - well it just makes sense to do it before new carpet goes down! I have taken the day off Friday and will make a start - new carpet needs to be down before Christmas!!

Spent £8.99 on a fleece blanket yesterday... it's for the cats. They LOVE sleeping on our bed which is fine (as they stay at the foot) but with the change in weather, our lovely white bedding is becoming patterned with dirty paw prints. Thought the cost was better than trying to get them to wipe their feet on the way in! lol

Here's waiting for the budget this afternoon!

Love the mental image of you trying to wipe cat's feet - or could you put socks on them?

Off to search for "cat house-socks!" There may be a niche market I can capitalise on here!

    Morning All!

Woke up this morning with a red eye and what can only be described as a volcano on the side of my face! (I do remember rubbing my eye in the night). Have decided to embrace this look as it is Halloween - no scary makeup required! lol

Have completed a few Pro.Ac surveys over the last couple of days - managed to boost my pot to £5.03 - not sure whether to withdraw this and pay a small percentage or build it up a bit more. I'm not 'in need' of the cash so will probably just see how it goes.

Decorating is still very much in the 'planning' stage. OH apparently has no preference over wall colour as long as it is light as it is quite a small space. I decided to more or less ignore him when he suggested we painted all the (currently white) woodwork Magnolia! Erm….. NO!!
I'm thinking 2 slightly different shades of yellow - one a bit more mustardy than the other, WHITE woodwork, ceiling and the two small walls that you look at on the way down the stairs (where the space has been boxed in to create a cupboard in the bedroom) and then carpet in a medium/darkish shade of grey. As always seems to be the case with our house - the more you look at it to plan what to do, the more you discover!! There is a profiled wooden trim down the side of the stairs - and it ends about 2 steps from the bottom!! It does look really odd. We have lived with it until now, but I think that as we are doing it, we may as well do it properly! But I have no idea how I am going to match in the profile - and there is no way I want to rip the old one up as it runs into the skirting on the landing! Also, where they changed to central heating before we moved in, we have horrible pipes running up the wall in the corner on the landing... I would love to box it in, but there is profiled skirting and it is beyond my capabilities to cut it in to join nicely... I could just rip the skirting board off on the two walls affected as they are only short lengths, but it just all adds to time (and the potential for me to get right royally annoyed with it all).
Grrr - this decorating malarkey is never as straight forward as I first think!!!

Had an up to date statement from the G&E supplier I am leaving - with a bit of luck there should be a small refund to come back to me when we leave! 2 weeks until the switch happens!

And that's me up to date.... I think! x

    Morning All!

Eye and face recovered from redness and volcano!

Back at work after 3 days off! Well.... I say off, I literally haven't stopped - and loads more still to do on the decorating front!

    Spends for the weekend....(eek!)
Birthday present and card - £53.00
Dinner out with family Fri £80.00 (paid cash)
    B&D sander - £20.00
Duvet set + clothes rail for DSS - (estimated) £50.00
    Decorating goods - £30.00

    Oh well!

Decorating is coming along okay... slow and steady pace is the plan!

Had a good chat with OH on Fri about the CC. He had agreed to set up a SO each month for a fixed amount for the CC!! YAY! By his own admission he "just wants to be left with pocket money!" Music to my ears! I explained that I find it stressful getting money out of him to pay the CC and he agreed that he is a nightmare! I have suggested £800 on the 1st of each month to sit in my Account earning some interest and then I will pay the CC, taking OH's portion from the £800 and leave the rest to bob over to the next month / car insurance / car tyres / savings.
Tonights plan is to get OH to pay this months CC and set up his SO from the 1st Dec. Fingers crossed this is the last bit of stress relating to the CC for a while.

    Catch you all laters x

Okay, so last night was a fail on the "get OH to pay CC and set up SO front". He was feeling a bit poorly so took up residency on the sofa whilst I sorted dinner. Poor sausage he is. Back a few weeks when I was unwell for what felt like forever, I still managed to do all the stuff that needed doing... washing, washing up, dinner cooking, cleaning, putting laundry away.

So..… CC financials are top of the list for tonight instead!

No news from the new G&E company - I'm sure they'll be wanting meter readings from me in the next few days, so I am keeping an eye out for email. This will also include my login details... as at the moment I can't do anything online (not that there is anything to do yet!)

Had the most bizarre dreams for the last 2 nights. No idea where they have come from. Can't remember any of Sunday nights, but managed to jot down some notes about last nights that I have added to my file. I love dreams!

Just had a nice study for Pro.Ac not load... that would have been £2.20 in the pot - maybe they will release it for me to try again! I have contacted the researcher.

Strangely, I have been awarded the £2.20 for the non-loading survey. Maybe that was part of the research... who knows?

Oh, I have been awarded my 10 year badge on here! Can't believe it is 10 whole years since I first got the proper hump with myself (and the bank) that I thought paying £25 for the privilege of withdrawing £10 from the cash point was ok! Even if I had had more sense and withdrawn MORE each time, it would have been cheaper for me! lol. How did I just not see it? Oh well. My learnings over the past 10 years will definitely stay with me for the rest of my life that's for sure.... even if OH does refer to me as "tight" every now and then! :rotfl:I would rather be tight (not that I am) than in debt any day thank you!

Still didn't manage to get OH to pay the CC last night - it is not due until the 18th... but I just want it done so I don't have to remember to remind him / get stressed at reminding him to do it. I have sent him a message on messenger to remind him so fingers crossed he does - I'm not it until around 20:45 as I have circuits so he will have plenty of time before I get home! The SO will have to wait until tomorrow as I need to crunch his figures to make sure paying £800 leaves him enough for the month! It should do, but I will need to prove it to OH for him to be happy.

Still no email from the G&E company - I am in their hands and it won't stress me (although it better happen on time as I am hoping to cancel the old DD before the new one goes out to avoid paying twice; worst case I will have to move some money over temporarily to cover it).

And that is it from me this wet and windy afternoon. Definitely do not like it being dark before 5pm!!!
