    Afternoon All!
Well, it's Friday - but it's not payday! :( I still withdraw my weekly spending allowance on a Friday - so I suppose it's like I am paying myself! lol

Nothing else sold on fleabay - the 5 items are all the same and are on BIN with a 30 day listing ... so I will just sit and wait.

I am off work this weekend, so have started a list - must get things done....
Read gas and electricity meter + submit online.
Do a tip run with rubbish from the garden.
Print out CC bill and pay.
Sort car insurance (due next Tuesday).
Go through boxes previously set aside for bootfairs (we haven't done a single one this year!) and see if there is anything worth fleabaying. List them if there is.
Sort de-funct food from freezer. Some stuff has been in there so long it is freezer-burnt. Want to make room for more useful food!
    start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!

I am off work this weekend, so have started a list - must get things done.... so what got done...
Read gas and electricity meter + submit online yep
Do a tip run with rubbish from the garden. Done plus extra bags from tidying up the front garden. OH even managed to get the front light working for the first time in 12 years.... he changed the bulb!
Print out CC bill and pay. Have paid the contents insurance amount, will pay the rest this evening.... figured the money was better off in my account for as long as possible.
Sort car insurance (due next Tuesday). Done - tagged my car onto OH's as it offered the best value. No cashback though which is quite sad.
Go through boxes previously set aside for bootfairs (we haven't done a single one this year!) and see if there is anything worth fleabaying. List them if there is. 1 item from the boxes listed last night + 1 item from my existing ebayable pile.
Sort de-funct food from freezer. Some stuff has been in there so long it is freezer-burnt. Want to make room for more useful food! Cleared out a baguette and a tub of icecream + took some sausages out to de-front for dinner tonight. Also went through the drawer where we keep all the dried foods - we have enough open packs of rice and pasta to feed us (and probably the neighbours) for the rest of the year. Used some risotto rice for dinner last night. For some reason I couldn't get OH to agree to me making the Angel Delight that was 7 years passed its BBE date.

With the ebay money, I have put £22.00 into my Student loan fund, £22.00 into the household account and the odd £4.71 into my account. Seems fair!

I think that's all from me! Have a great day... it's definitely getting chilly and I feel heating-wars are on the horizon!! lol

Ok, so my gas and elec bill is going from £46 to £61. Ouch... but to be fair they did lower my DD from £54 earlier in the year. Couldn't see the point personally but went with it. I will be looking at switching tariff at the end of the month.
Last night I spoke to our TV, broadband and phone supplier and have reduced our monthly bill by £27 a month. WHOOP! One DD up and the other down leaves us £15 a month better off. Spreadsheets updated with latest figures.... don't seem to tweak them as much now I'm paid monthly! :(

Have a good day everyone. xxx

2 weeks to payday! Whoop! lol

Online banking checked this morning - out of habit more than anything else! Accounts match my spreadsheet... wouldn't expect anything else to be fair - but it's nice to know I haven't missed anything!

So it looks like I may be hunting for some new bank accounts in the new year. The Halifax reward is reducing to £3 (from £5 a month) and the interest paying account is reducing from 5% on £2000 down to 3% on £1500. It may well be that these account will still be the best of accounts next year - but there may still be the chance of making £100 or so by changing an account which is a much bigger value than the interest that will be available.

Also, sorry just logging my musings... it looks like inflation may be on its way up and this affects the "interest" applied to my student loan (no interest as such but an adjustment based on the RPI to keep the value in line). Have therefore made a note to make a one off payment of whatever is in the student loan fund mid-March. This will reduce the balance for when the next rate is applied in April.

Nothing else sold on fleabay - will try and list a few more bits over the weekend.

Oh, we really could do with 3 new drawer fronts for our freezer. Kinda getting fed up with things sliding out the front when you open the door / drawers. The fridge/freezer is just over 13 years old, so is probably not the most efficient any more. The drawer fronts have become brittle / cracked through the coldness over the years. Had a look online for new drawer fronts. Can't be that expensive I thought.... well, I was wrong. They are about £35.00... each!!! Now for a set of 3 I would have probably ordered them. But not each! I can get a brand-new fridge/freezer for around the £200 mark. So, we will be putting up with the drawers for now. Will keep an eye out in the sales.... funds pending. (on top of that we are still house-hunting so I don't want to buy a new fridge/freezer that won't look right in a new place - would rather try and hang it out until we have moved... whenever that may be! lol).

Right, that's me for now! Have a great weekend all! xxx

Hi KD - have just popped over to your diary! I was wondering if you were ok!? Life gets in the way doesn't it? x

Well, todays news is........ my claim for flight compensation has been agreed to be settled. For 7 people! Whoop! Shame the £/Euro rate has dropped so much! lol

I have 2 more items to list on fleabay tonight. As long as I can find my mojo when I get home from work.

    Morning All!

1 week until payday! Being paid monthly is pretty boring isn't it? lol
Well, what do I have to report....?
Q.co confirmed £62.92 available. £60 is OH's for his car insurance so I will send that to him. Aren't I nice!? The odd £2.92 will go into my student loan fund.
I got home last night to a letter from the Tax Man. They owe me some money.... a whole £11.80! lol WOW. I can claim that back online, so will try and get that processed today.
Patiently waiting to see how much we'll get through for the flight compensation (with the change in exchange rate and the solicitors deductions I really have no idea!) Could be around 60 days yet. Grrr. I hate waiting!! Fingers crossed it will be here before the festive season.
House-sitting starts today. Have had to change plans slightly as OH has to go to London for 2 days next week for an Op and I am going with him. So sitting for 5 nights - not sitting for 3 nights - sitting for 3 nights. It's it bit of a pain, but OH needs this Op and they have brought the date forward by a month which is better in the long run. Reimbursement for sitting will obviously be reduced. Maybe around £70-£80. Still - better than nothing (and we now have 2 nights hotel in London to fund and train travel!).
Nothing else worth noting. Checked my accounts yesterday and they all match my spreadsheets! NICE!

    Have a lovely weekend all!

Just reclaimed my tax refund online (didn't have a payslip to hand last Friday!) - bit of a palaver but the whole £11.80 is winging its way to me!

Have converted some clubcard vouchers to put towards the train travel to London this week. That knocks £30 off the ticket costs.

Ordered a new purse online over the weekend. I love my current one but is falling apart and money is falling out into my handbag (can't be having that now can we?) I have managed to find my exact purse online but with different colours on the inside. Very happy as it is a good size, and it means I can just move my cards over and know exactly where they are! .. also it was in a sale! :)

Right, lets go make a cup of coffee and do some work! lol x

    Morning All!
I have just been awarded my 8 year badge for being a member of this wonderful site. I thought I would share my very first DFW post ... it seems a very long time ago now! I have learned so much and hopefully made changes that will stay with me forever!

    icon1.gif*my Diary* - Omg!
    Hi All!

Having spent ages getting the weekly money saving tips email I finally ventured on here on Wednesday 19th Nov 2008. This followed my LBM:rolleyes:

My LBM came on Wednesday evening on my way home, just as the cashpoint said I could have the tenner I wanted, but would have to pay £25-00 for the privilege! I took my card and walked away without the tenner - yes, in the past I would have taken it despite the charge!

Wednesday I sat down and used the Personal Budget Plan that HSBC recently sent me in response to my letter trying to reclaim my charges due to hardship.

    My total debt £18,225

After a gulp and a period of wanting to cry, I got angry with myself for letting myself get in this state. I think it is this self-anger that will keep me going!!

I always thought that I was quite tech-savvy, but find it hard to locate things on this site, so when I find the SOA template (I think there is one somewhere!) I will put it on here for you all to view and welcome your comments.

I did have a stroke of 'good luck' last night when I found an empty Abbey credit card. I contacted them and took advantage of their 0% BT offer. 0% until August 2009. I moved money from Egg card (currently at 17.9%) and Egg money (currently at 12.9%). There is a little space left on the Abbey card at 0% - do I transfer some money to my overdraft (HSBC £800-00) where I am bouncing over their limit and getting those annoying charges?

Today, I have made a packed lunch for the second day in a row (a record for me).

Tonight I need to work out my available cash for the week (I get paid weekly!)

    Thanks for reading!
