  • Hi Nats

It's just wet and windy here, hopefully it doesn't get any worse.

Money front, I'm skint for about a week and trying to organise something for my son's 18th which is the 1st March. Thankfully my freezer is well stocked at the moment!
    new challenge?

Just managed to get £20 released from Q.co.... well it does relate to a transaction dating back to Feb last year - so it is about time! That will be winging its way over to the savings account, to eventually go toward the 0% c/card.

    Happy Nats! x

An extra £1.45 has been released from Q.co this morning - so I have requested to withdraw that too!

House / dog sitting starts today for 8 nights. I have packed all my fleabay bits that are active so I have them with me when the sell - saves driving 10 miles home just to get them!

I am aiming to spend the least amount of money on food as possible whilst I am house sitting.... and eat healthily and lose some weight. Chicken and veg is the plan... but if there is something tempting in the reduced section then that is what I will have! Coupled with dog walking and maybe a jog at the weekend, I would like to lose a lb or 2 next week!

    That's all folks! x

£5.00 account 'reward' money and interest of £2.24 transferred to my 'savings' account. Free money earning interest - now that is a nice feeling!! lol
Have re-listed one item on fleabay that ended ages ago. The number of watchers overall has fallen - what is going on? Total money released from fleabay sales in January = £25.53. Not a huge amount compared some previous months ... but if I managed to clear that every month, then that's £306.00 over the year! Can't be sniffed at... although more would obviously be nice!!
Just reserved a hotel for one night for my trip to America in May... via Q.co of course (although that won't pay out for about 10 weeks after we stay!)
I don't think there is anything else to report. Ooh, except dinner last night was a Mr T salmon in a watercress sauce with green beans and new potatoes... reduced to £1.58!! (and it was healthy eating!)
    Laters all! x

Ooh, where have I been - its been a week since I last wrote! Oops.

Sooo - what's been happening? Not much here. House-sitting over and back at home. Just turned down another 6 nights house-sitting for someone else. Well - I have only just got back from the last stint, and to be fair this other person lives in the middle of nowhere (as in private drive that's about 1.4 mile long) and I have house-sat there before and it scared the living daylights out of me... I grew up in the countryside - but there was always a neighbour or someone not more than a good stones throw away!! So I declined. The money would be nice (of course) but I am not spending just over a week on edge for it!
No sales on fleabay yet - I am surprised as some of the items would have made great Valentines present. Oh well - they will go I am sure!
OH's birthday this Thursday. Off for a meal out that night (with a £35 off voucher to spend), have Friday off work - might go to the cinema and then we are off to the races and a night away on the Sat. All done as cost effectively as possible with cashback or discount codes.
That's me up to date for now!!

Oh, and I notice that as of April everyone (standard tax rate) will not pay tax on the first £1000 of interest they earn. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not going to be earning £1000 in interest next tax year, but the idea of not giving 20% of whatever I do earn away is rather nice. Works quite nicely with my "making my money work for me" plan!
