  • Ok will give R Williams a shout who is our case manager, shame our advisor that recommended it is on holiday.

Not happy now, had an alternate product recommended as a 2nd choice, but their lead times they said PO. I rec at the end of this the alternative will be quicker than PO...
  • Joy :(

"They are working on your application at the moment, so towards the end of the week is when i should have the list of documents they need.
They are working on documents that were sent in on the 21st July, so they are still behind on that but hopefully by the time we send yours onto them, they will have caught up!"

Post Office suck, always have and always will.

I've already given some documents, so a question of what next....
  • when I spoke to and L&C advisor about 6 weeks, I was advised not to go for a mortgage with PO as it would take too long due to the backlog... that being said, my Barclays application isn't exactly speeding along! :-(

Interesting I was told different .... Mmmm someone earning their commission here...
  • I wasn't impressed by the L&C service and the advice wasn't actually accurate, so I ended back with Barclays. (I was told they didn't offer a further advance on 80% LTV which was wrong)

Mmm might go looking at other options myself
  • A belt and braces approach doesn't hurt. I approached Barclays first and went to L&C asking if they could find me a better offer...

I also agree that you get what you pay for and had the Barclays DIP been a problem, I'd have used a paid broker.

Wish I had read this before paying my fee. Applied for full mortgage 8/8 they said it went on system 11/8 . Phoned yesterday n they say they are 7 days behind, that takes it to Monday if it really is processed in 7 days.! Estate agent said if no exchange of contracts by 1/10 my lovely new house will go to auction instead :(

    Don't feel too hopeful !

    :...........very stressed 1st time buyer!
Does anyone know if I can apply elsewhere before I send my documents off?
  • Apparently our initial documents HAVE been assessed, the email we received was a bit unclear. We're now waiting for my husband's employment documents, the valuation and the anti-money laundering stuff to be assessed. They were due to reach our application today so watch this space...
