Now, either my maths is pretty terrible (which is highly likely :rotfl:) or that's not a "whole year" birthday, IYKWIM?! Is there a significance to the 12,000 days or is it just a good excuse for a knees up?! Either way I hope you have a great weekend! :)
Kadison - I hope BF enjoys his party (although I too am intrigued by the 12000 days thing!!)

He's more than a bit of a geek (good thing I've always been into geeky guys eh?) and he likes to celebrate his '1000 days' birthdays, which come around every 2.7ish years. :D

UU no 11/ lush bright side, love this so WDBA

UU no 12/ s&g righteous butter, 300mls. I've gotten so sick of s&g scent but still have tons left!

Slow month for me and I've completely lost track of my 'stock level' too as I've had holidays and kids off sch and stuff! Hope everyone's had a good month, I've not had a chance to catch up x

See you all in August :)

I like the cut of his jib, especially if he celebrates his 'normal' birthdays too :D Extra parties and presents every 2.7 years? Don't mind if I do :rotfl:

One OUT and two INs, all the same,

Collection 24 Hr Extreme Felt Tip Liner in Black; HG, had all but dried up this morning when I put my face on, nipped to Boots and they we're on 2 for £5 so whopping 98p saving by buying a brace :D I've already stashed the second one alongside my other full bottles of "spare" foundations etc, as I've made the mistake in the past of leaving it in my drawer and ending up with two on the go at the same time.

Has anyone here tried the Neutrogena pink grapefruit facial wash? I'm running my bottle of Elemis Tri Enzyme wash down and cannot afford to replace it (story of my blippin' life :(). I thought the Neutrogena one might work in a similar fashion as it contains salicylic acid, but I don't want to waste a fiver if it's horribly drying.

Kadison - I'm glad that things are still going so well for you and your lovely bloke. You seem to be fizzing with happiness! It's so lovely :)

I must admit that I looked at you're UU list and was envious as well! :rotfl: I've had a slow month for UU and a bad one for INs. I haven't totted up my totals yet but I just know it was a bad month...

I too get frustrated when things aren't going down quickly enough, even when I'm enjoying them! Madness :rotfl:

FizzWhizz - I forgot to say that I'd bought my Rituals stuff online with JL. I'm shocked that the HoF staff were so snooty! There isn't a HoF near me so I've never ventured into one. Don't want to now! :rotfl:

Seaside Dreamer - HUGE congratulations on being debt free. Amazing!!! :j :j: :j Here's a celebratory virtual drink for you

maddiemay - what a shame that you needed new specs and sunnies :o Very lovely of your DH to offer to pay. I get totally flummoxed by the 'is this better?' business as well! :rotfl: I'm glad that your reactive skin is gradually improving. I hope you're back to normal asap. xx

I'm super-impressed with all the veg growing going on. I've just started drinking a daily green smoothie so would kill for ready access to fresh, home grown veggies. I'm just at the stage of enjoying tending indoor plants and that makes me really happy (chillies, herbs, a geranium and an orchid so far). Sadly I don't have the energy for proper outdoor gardening but if I were to get well I'd definitely grow veggies and some flowers.

(Ooooh! It has just started to pour with rain here.)

No UUs to declare but I'm close on a few things. August is going to be a no spend month for me. I'm going to try and make it a low spend foodwise as well as I went a bit mad buying kitchen/house things this month (all useful and good buys but it added up quickly, along with a mega shop in the H&B sale...) I'm well stocked up with healthy basics so should only need fruit and veg...

Willowbee, the beauty staff in the Leamington HoF are lovely, I think it's just a Solihull thing, everyone here thinks they're superior because it's not Birmingham :rotfl: Not that that's a sweeping generalisation or anything :p I know the range from Rituals which I love and I will probably end up buying online when I finally run short of their products, I'll just miss being able to pop in and have a poke and a sniff, not to mention the lovely hand massages I used to get when trying out a new product or five ;)

I'm envious of you all with your veg growing too, until I remember (a) I have a black thumb and can kill ANY plant within a two metre range and (2) I really, really hate gardening :D Before I moved from Wales I had a house with a great big garden and it was the bane of my life, just [STRIKE]mowing the lawn[/STRIKE] mincing the grass was enough to exhaust me and the veg patches which my ex husband had built were knee deep in weeds by the time I left. The day the greenhouse blew down was actually kind of a relief :rotfl: We live in a flat now and once a fortnight, some lovely men come and cut the grass, weed the flower beds and do all the other green fingered stuff in the shared garden and I just get to sit and look at the prettiness without having to lift a finger. Best perk of apartment life!

I think it's more something he just celebrates rather than gets presents for, I am making him a few things and I've bought him some name chocolates from Hobbycraft. I've also bought his book of Amazon so that's another 7p or whatever royalites he gets from it! :rotfl:

Re the gardening, I'm with you, I have no knack for it and I have a friend with an allotment who LOVES spending whole days there when possible, sounds like torture to me! In fact anything physical does that's along the lines of really getting anything done e.g. cleaning the car, the house, decorating - no thank you!!

Oh don't be envious, my INs list is almost as large, oh well! :)

Awwww thank you, I know I make everyone feel sick saying this sort of thing but I never in a million years thought I'd meet someone as perfect for me as he is and if I can anyone can, to give hope to all the still-singles out there. People used to say that to me and I'd think "Yeah right!".

Have I said that his parents are down from Scotland in two weeks so I'm meeting them :eek::eek::eek::eek: I am a worrier generally and I am panicking/feeling sick/tearful at the thought, if it doesn't go well it doesn't bear thinking what the consequences could be, no-one wants their parents to disapprove do they? It doesn't help that I'm worrying about the things I can't change or at least not in two weeks!

    Three things....
My huge size (In case any of you are thinking I'm making a fuss over nothing, I'm a size 30/32)
Being older than him (not sure why I have such a complex when it's only 3.5 years but I do)
Being thick/not as educated (He has a PhD and did his undergrad at Oxford, I only made it through tech college)

Kadison my lovely… take a deep breath!

Your man's parents will see that he is happy, and I'm CERTAIN that's all they really care about. They won't see the size label in your knickers, or ask to see your masters degree, or scrutinise your birth certificate, they'll be looking at the smile on his face. I'm not going to tell you not to be nervous, god knows I was cacking myself when I met my inlaws for the first time :rotfl: but just remember, they brought their son up to be the man he is now, and if he's good enough for you then you're more than good enough for him.

FWIW, my DH is almost 14 years older than me, it makes not a jot of difference IMHO. We are two peas in a bag :p and I honestly believe that anyone who might have had misgivings about the age gap at the beginning of our relationship only had to see the two of us together to realise that the old adage of "age is just a number" is bang on. My dad is a man of few words but on our wedding day he said we are just perfect together. He's right.

Looks like it's my turn to get the spew flowing today :D All is can say is be true to yourself, don't make apologies for your education level or your body, or anything else for that matter, be yourself and they will understand just why their son has chosen you.

Be cool m'dear, it'll be a breeze compared to whatever you're imagining xxx

Thanks Fizz, he knows I'm worried and said I have nothing TO worry about, I haven't done this before and it feels like a lot of pressure, but I'm the only one putting it on me!

I keep thinking I know he's happy and I hope they can see that and look past the other stuff but.......*drives self mad*

I really need to chill :cool::cool: xxx
