We went to the cinema yesterday as part of my birthday treat weekend and I discovered that the Rituals shop in Touchwood has closed down
Good news for my bank balance but I will miss their sales, I don't even know where the nearest store/concession is, there must be one in Birmingham, surely?!
I have no INs but no UUs either. My skids are away at their Dad's for the next fortnight and I'm going to use the P&Q to gut the entire flat and fling a whole host of crap. My makeup drawer is a disgrace so that's the first thing for a sort/clean/declutter, I find it really hard to throw makeup away but I might be back later with some progress…
Happy belated birthday! What film did you see? I went to see Boyhood for my late birthday treat
I love almost everything that I've tried from Rituals (the bubble bath was nothing special but everything else has been great). I've bought most of mine from John Lewis in big sets during the sales so that I can try a few things for a little money as possible :money: For me they are equal to L'Occitane in terms of a treat but quite a bit cheaper
My OH has been away for four days so I've been sorting out the house and overhauling my eating habits. I bought lots of supplements in the Holland & Barrett sale, bought a blender/food processor in the Curry's sale and have discovered that making green smoothies is easy and cheap. Hurrah! I've 'rationalised' (i.e. hidden on top of the bathroom cupboard :rotfl:) the ever-growing collection of stuff that migrated to the bath shelf. Everything looks nicer and makes it seem that UUs are more likely...
Pickle - I wanted to say thank you for posting about the storage sets in the JL sale. I didn't buy those but I did find lots of useful/much needed household bits in the sale and I wouldn't have looked if it weren't for your post. :A0 -
Yes, I bin anything that's gone off as well, WB. As for foundations etc, I too have changing skins problems and about 5 different products, but, with the exception of one of them which I daresay will head binwards soon, I mix them together to get the right formulation for the day!!:D
I have too much perfume and we're planning on moving any time from next summer onwards. Every single, tiny thing that's used up is one less thing to pack, move and unpack again!:)Elizabeth
Long-term No Buys: print books, make-up, art/craft items

Hello all! Sorry I haven't been on here lately, me and blokie were celebrating three months together at the weekend, we had planned to go to Salisbury for the day but due to trains issues (lightning hit rail equipment at Twyford on Friday afternoon) it took him 3.5 hours to make the normal 30 minute journey from Paddington to Reading, there was no way he was going to get to me in Swindon that night as it's on the same train line and no trains were running out of Paddington at all (he had to get across London to Waterloo to get home) so I went to Reading and picked him up.
He was understandably knackered and I had no wish to drive anywhere 1.5hrs away after a 2 hour round-trip the night before so we slobbed about and then went around Lydiard Park, then to Asda where I bought croissants for breakfast and he bought me flowers :jand then we went out for dinner at a very nice Chinese restaurant near me.
It was so nice, he did a little toast and said "To three amazing months, and here's to the next three....." :A awwwwwwwww!!!! *sniff*Elizabeth_Braun wrote: »I have too much perfume and we're planning on moving any time from next summer onwards. I have too much everything, I know I am looking far too far ahead but I am already thinking how much I'd need to pack if blokie was to ask me to move in with him, that's a long way off but it's a very good way to get decluttering!!No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Awwww I'm so happy for you kadison!
1 UU last night, Lush H'Suan Wen Hua Mask. WBA – full of protein for my very dyed hair. Some people don't like the smell, but I think it's yummy.
I tell you what, this forum has made such a difference to my stash. Looking at the list of products and the list that I now have, and how many products I have used, is so inspiring. No more goo hoarding!

Willowbee, we went to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes; it was… OK, I had read a lot of reviews which said it was much better than Rise and I was full of anticipation but it wasn't as amazing as I hoped it would be. We saw it in 3D but I don't think it added much to the experience, apart from to the ticket price
I have had a look at the Rituals store finder and apparently there is a concession in HoF here, my only beef is that the staff who work on the beauty counters in there are SO rude, I went in before my wedding with a view to buying high end foundation, concealer and powder, the store was empty but despite wandering around for 10 minutes no one offered help and the woman on Chanel looked me up and down as though I was something minging she'd found on her shoe. Suffice it to say, they didn't get any of my moneyConversely, the beauty staff in JL here are fabulous, but no Rituals. I might have to dispatch DH to the HoF in Leamington on his lunch break when I need anything; that wouldn't end badly at all, I'm sure
Kadison, you're making me nauseous:rotfl: JK, I enjoy reading about your romantic exploits

Nothing much coming in or going out here; its been far too cold in the bathroom for hanging around any longer than basic hygiene requires.
I have finally UU an Aromatherapy Lavender & Rosemary Shower Gel that was a birthday gift from two years ago. It was nice enough but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it.Mortgage

Just popping to report a few UUs from the weekend:
29/174. Bomb Cosmetics bath blaster - WNB, this was gifted and hated the greasy residue it left behind. All gone now!
30/175. TBS Almon Hand and Nail Cream 30ml - WMB, nicely scented if a little greasy. Still severela left to get through first though.
31/176. Jenny Packham Salonniere Body Wash 150ml - WMBA if on a good sale, this came as part of a set from Boot$ 70% off. Very strongly rose-scented but made a nice change as so different from my usual. The gel was gold and shimmery which I loved!
I have a few freebie INs too but don't have the info to hand so will post later.
FizzWhizz, belated birthday wishes!
Hope everyone's well and that maddiemay is feeling better.MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
Thank you all for good wishes, a little cooler and allergy seems to be easing off, I even braved trying eye cream this morning and no flare up, still not risking any eye make up, hate not wearing mascara though.
Eye test this afternoon, does anyone else hate that "which is better" business, I always feel such a twit for some reason if I don't know:rotfl: I cannot afford new specs atm, so hoping for no change in prescription, my sunnies are to the previous one and I must change those lenses as I was struggling reading the names on the map whilst on holiday:(
I really feel like treating myself, thank goodness that so far nothing in our tiddly branch of Boots has tempted me.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Sorry for making people feel sick
I have just succumbed to the No7 offer on the grabbit board, but due to offers I got everything at around half price plus some very nice samples so not too bad really :money:No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Kadison - pleased that everything still going well for you:j
I had my eye test and do need more specs and sun specs, OH offered to pay for them:), chicken roasting in oven for supper, thought I had better treat him to something nice. I prefer to be able to pay my own way for such items, so must be ultra strong and not waste money on toiletries, a holiday in York booked for September, so need to save some spending and food money for us.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.
