Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker Debt-free and Proud!
I love my allotment! Hard work and I end up covered in dirt but I eat so much veg its worth it. I've already had raspberries, strawberries, black currants, peas, broad beans, lettuce, carrots, courgettes, potatoes, radish, onion, garlic and mange tout this year:T
Still to come are sweetcorn- no tassles yet on my patch, French beans, tomatoes, fennel, kohl rabi, cabbage if it survives the butterflies, squash and butternut squash!

What's your favorite things to grow?

I love seeing the little seedlings appear but am gutted when they die. Was so annoyed yesterday, a cat had dug up my leeks and poohed everywhere:eek::eek::eek:not to mention the bird carcas one left on the path:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Still I spent the whole day down there yesterday and the weeding is almost done:)
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales

Clutterfree I do indeed have a watermelon one that you are welcome to have, but I wont be able to post until next weekend as I'm at the seaside! :D!!

I decided on keeping one of the strawberry ones for myself, but still have another strawberry one (the darker colour) if anyone is interested :)

KT2802 Do your primark wipes seem the same as normal?
Recently I've tried 2 of the different sorts and found them different, overly scented and not so good :/ . I know for that price can't really complain, but I wound up using one pack for a plate painting "lesson" I gave, and have stashed 2 lots in the car and boat for when my dads been doing mechanically things. I'm trying to behave and move onto lessWhy they have to change things I don't know :(

seaside dreamer & Clutterfree - no allotment but I do have a veggie patch, well sort of, mines a bit of a grow plants in everything kind of style. I have pumpkins and courgettes growing in a old frame of a filing cabinet, and in the drawers, broad beans, sugar snap peas, and asparagus peas. Tomatillos and peppers growing in old wheel barrows. And this big old metal trough has spring onions. Loads of fruit growing around the place but most of that goes for wine supplies not eating :( .

I usually have a proper veggie patch too, both ground and raised, but damn bunny rabbits eat everything :'( and what with dad working in Germany we just never got round to sorting it this year. My last patch was gravelled and turned into parking spots for 2 boats and a trailer I've yet to been allocated my new place in the garden lol!
I also made a bit of an oopsy this year though and our seeds got left out in the rain so I had to plant EVERYTHING! I have so many wild white strawberry plants popping up it's insane, going to be swimming in the things next summer.
All the streets in my Avon round are around some allotments I am very jealous there seems to be such a sense of community, they are currently making a new parking area/entry, in it's really lovely to see all the people there chipping i :)

And finally back on topic :P an in
Face sun cream - not used one before!

    Hi Trudi
Hope that things are good with you and the four legged ones.

Still plodding along, lots to UU still, but much less coming in to the house these days.

Hello Trudi! Nice to see you

I also hope that your horse(s) are doing well :)

maddiemay - I'm so sorry to read that you are stuck inside rather than being able to be in your garden. You seem to be in the wars at the moment. ***healing hugs*** to you.

I have three UUs to report and TA

TA - Carmex Balm Tube (10g) I like the balm in the pot but not when it's in a tube. Is that odd? I prefer tube packaging to pots but the formula seems different. Anyhow, this is a relic and I've used a good amount but am binning in cos I have millions of other balms to UU

UU - Balance Hyaluronic 554 Youth Serum (30ml). Not sure if I WBA. It's v cheap (around a fiver at Fr@grance D*rect) and it soothes my skin if it feels a bit tight but didn't seem to do anything else. (It was recommended by Sally Hughes in The Guardian). It's MBA when I've used more serums up :rotfl:

UU - Campos de Ibiza Almond Body Milk (S 38ml) - this smelt amazing and I really enjoyed using it. WNBA unless I spot it reduced in TKMaxx or somewhere... (MUST NOT BUY ANY MORE BODY LOTIONS!:o)

UU - Tresemme Platinum Deep Conditioning Hair Mask - HG normal hair conditioner for my thirsty hair (I don't use it as a mask) (I buy it when it's 1/2 price so it's v :money:)

It has been a relatively slow month for UUs and a bad one for spending money (not just on toiletries). I'm trying to work out if I can do a no spend for August...

Lots that I've not commented on (I didn't keep up with the thread so well recently) but I hope the various poor injured children are all on the mend :)

    Night, night ladies.

You make it sound as though wine is a bad thing! :rotfl: I had a friend whose parents used the trimmings from runner beans to make wine, he assured me it was delicious but I remained unconvinced :undecided

We went to the cinema yesterday as part of my birthday treat weekend and I discovered that the Rituals shop in Touchwood has closed down  Good news for my bank balance but I will miss their sales, I don't even know where the nearest store/concession is, there must be one in Birmingham, surely?!

I have no INs but no UUs either. My skids are away at their Dad's for the next fortnight and I'm going to use the P&Q to gut the entire flat and fling a whole host of crap. My makeup drawer is a disgrace so that's the first thing for a sort/clean/declutter, I find it really hard to throw makeup away but I might be back later with some progress…
  • Went to visit one of my best friends in her new house at the weekend, so I had a lovely time. Also found a chubby stick in the WH Smiths at the train station, so couldn't resist. Don't count make up in my stash though so it's almost like it didn't happen!
    No more goo hoarding!

  • I would like to share a tip. Certain products that can stack up can double up as something else to use them up. This is especially helpful if you found the product disappointing or if you get a lot of gifts, but don't really use that much, i.e. bath products. Here are some suggestions:

    * My favourite is using up disappointing hair conditioners as a pre-wash treatment on dry hair.
    * Bubble bath and similar products can be used up as shower gels, as can hand washes and shampoos. These products are all pretty much the same stuff and can interchange quite smoothly.
    * Facial moisturisers that don't suit and that you can't e-bay etc can be used up on your legs and rest of body. Hand lotion/creams and body lotions are the same too and can double up easily. I often use hand wash and lotion sets as shower gel and matching body lotion.
    * You could alternate a naff product with a preferred one until the naff one is gone.

I don't really have a huge bathroom stash to work through as I did a '100 product use up' personal challenge 6 years ago before we went abroad for a year and haven't hoarded since. However, I'm really cheering on the team here who are stash busting! :T I want to use up a make-up remover I don't really like (and can't quite understand why I bought a second bottle of. It was cheap, I suppose!) What I am trying to use up is perfumes I've had hanging around - one for about 30 years even! - and make up items and not buy more until I've got through some of them. Takes quite a long time, but it's coming on slowly.

I tend to buy enough wash & lotion sets for the year in the Boxing Day sales at Boots and then work through them. That way I get lots of nice and otherwise unaffordable on our budget products for a bargain price.

I hope there's something someone can use here...:o

    Hello Elizabeth

There are some really thoughtful tips there. The key one for me is mixing favourite products with things that I'm trying to use up (a mixture of stash relics and more recent things that I'm just not that keen on). This helps to keep me motivated :)

I have lots of perfume too but I've come to see it as a joyful resource rather than something to be used up :) Every so often I rotate the perfumes that I'm using so that the 'new' ones seem like a treat again. I usually have a couple of bottles that I'm focusing on UU amongst those but only because they are almost finished and I don't want them to go off.

As for make-up items...I don't count them as INs but I have an awful lot that I need to sort through. It's so easy for things to build up as most products take an age to finish. My skin seems to change a lot so my problem area is foundations/bases - I go through a lot of fails and finally find something that works, then my skin shifts again. Because of this I don't like to bin the foundations that haven't worked because in the back of my mind I'm hoping that they WILL work sometime in the future! (I would bin any that have gone off, mind you.)
