Evening ladies and welcome to the thread Kiss Prudence. :)

Not sure if anyone really recognises me as I hardly ever post on this thread.......this is mainly because I am so bad at sticking to the no buying toiletry thing and so am too ashamed to claim my IN's lol!
Sorry to hear about your ordeal honey72, I hope things have settled back down again for you and your family now. Please do feel free to join in more, we're all in the same boat and we all fall off the wagon every now and again. :p

Hugs to emsjune78 and rogueylawyer, I'm glad your Mum seems to be recovering.

Did you hear that I fell of the stage in Newcastle and broke a woman's arm?
Just had a little read back of my last post and I meant that HE fell of stage, not me! I wasn't on stage!
I did wonder how on earth you managed to get on stage with Robbie Val....... ;) :rotfl:

My body souffle has been cut open and I painted my nails last week with OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! but it needs to be taken off now as it is starting to chip. I still have OPI Royal Rajah Ruby with a topcoat of Max Factor Fantasy Fire on my toes.

I'm keeping my eyes open for the chubby stick freebies, but no joy in Tesco earlier I'm afraid.
Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.... :/

Rose Poudre is one of my absolute favourite nail colours ever.

    I have a uu

Balance Me Titnted Lip Salve - Raspberry 10ml, this was a magazine freebie, it was very runny and seemed to disappear really quickly so I used it under other lip products. WNBA.

That's what I was wearing today it's so pretty

I'm so sad I finally used up all of my seventeen powder, got 3 other powders to use up before I'm allowed to buy any more. I would definitely buy this again it stacks up well against many other more expensive brands and it's much paler on the skin than it looks. I had ivory/ porcelain and on the skin it's paler than the palest rimmel stay matte colour.

I have also used up the last of my udpp- I had an old pot which I cut open and I've been using the residue for ages but it's finally dried up. I will buy that again but in the meantime will make do with the mua one.

I have thrown away a Nivea pearl lipbalm stick. I was just never reaching for it and when I opened it tonight it had gone manky. Def wouldn't buy again. There are other much better products on the market.

I have nearly used up another Hand wash - just a plain carex one. It was ok nothing special. I have two more carex ones to use up which are at various sinks round the house at the mo. after that I will be buying the dettol ones. Has anyone else tried them? I have recently started the raspberry one and it's amazing. Makes your hands feel clean and smells amazing and is fine on my very sensitive skin - I'm allergic to so many hand washes.

Used up clean and clear face wipes for when I'm too tired at night to do proper cleansing. Wouldn't buy again - too drying. I'm now using boots cucumber ones from my stash which are nicer on the skin but don't get mascara off properly.

Not really a beauty product but I've just finished a Colgate peroxyl mouthwash. This has saved me so many dentist trips as I'm really prone to ulcers and mouth infections. Also though if you use it for a few days running if your teeth look a bit stained it brightens than up a treat which is why I'm mentioning.

    UU:

    50. Lancôme L'Orangerie eau de toilette 75ml. Lovely, have another in the stash. It just smells summery to me.

    51. Boscia Face Wash 50 ml. WNBA, just have to use up another travel size in the stash. Didn't like the way it feels on your lips after you've rinsed. Just strange.

    52. Simple Eye Make Up remover 58m. Will use what's in the stash but won't buy. Didn't remove mascara well and I wind up looking like a racoon.

    TA
    53. Clinique Black Honey lippie. gwp size. Liked it but it snapped off and I stuck it back on and it kept snapping off, so gone. There are more in the stash somewhere.

It was nearly 30 today and it's close and thundery. It's also forest fire season up in the NWT and the wind is carrying the smoke down. So it's a really strange time of the year.

It's the start of my night shift run. At least it's cool on those shifts.

This thread is moving fast again.

Oh no, just found out there is a new Hydraluron moisturiser!
I've never found my Holy Grail moisturiser so I am sooooo tempted!
    Sits on hands...

Also has anyone tried the Garnier Miracle Skin Cream?
It has SPF20 and I supposed to adapt to your skin colour.

    Reviews are very mixed.
 Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
  • Clutterfree,

I see what you mean about the mixed reviews, I just had a look myself. I personally don't get along very well with Garnier products, because I consistently find myself not liking the smell.

Earlier this year I bought the Garnier BB cream. It does an ok job but I don't reach for it because of the smell. I also received a Garnier hair oil sample in a superdrug order I made a around a month ago and did not like the smell of the hair oil either.

I hope the cream works out for you if you decide to purchase.

My own near purchasing incident happened this morning. I managed to convince myself that I need some travel make up brushes for my holiday. I got as far as putting them in an online shopping basket before I made myself get up and actually look at the make up brushes I already have.

You guessed it guys, I have perfectly good make up brushes that are travel friendly. But I still feel tempted to buy those brushes I don't need. I need somebody with a loud speaker to makes an announcement when I get close to purchasing. Move away from the basket Kiss Prudence because you don't need those brushes! :A

Hope you all have a good day!

I know what you mean KP, I have the Garnier BB cream and never use it. It's too thick and even though I bought the "light" it's still a tad too dark.

I love the Bourjois CC cream, though.

I just fancied this new Garnier cream as it has SPF 20. May take a look at YouTube reviews.

Did anyone join the swaps facebook group?
    Is it still active?

Well done KP on avoiding a purchase!

OMG - I've just realised! You must be a Nuts In May Fan!!! :D

I've not had a look yet, not sure.

If anyone wanted to start a 'swaps' group on here I'm sure we could get one going. Lord knows I have plenty to swap with :rotfl:

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • I have some UU's

Clinique deep comfort body butter (mini) - I'd like to try the full size version of this, as after shaving it did make my legs feel super smooth which for me is the holy grail!!

Champneys citrus blush body lotion - WMBA - liked the smell but don't think it went beyond anything I've tried before. If it was in the Boots sale again I would buy.

Dermalogica shower gel - WNBA - not overly keen on the smell

TA - Joules body scrub - the smell was unpleasant and it made the shower tray look like I'd spent the day at the beach. Normally I'd push on through and use it up but life's too short for bad body scrubs that look and feel like sand!

Welcome to all the newbies, lovely to hear your stories. I've only been on the thread for 2 months but I'm loving it and it's very inspirational!

    Hi everybody

Please can I join the thread.

The amount of toiletries in my home is really starting to build up and I want to use up some products and get it under control.

Its a strange thing this attraction to smells and goo. I feel delighted when I buy the stuff and it arrives into my home. As I live in a rural location I will order online and have it delivered. Then, stranger still, I feel even better when I have used up a product and finally see the back of it!

I have not made a list of everything I have.

Welcome Kiss Prudence. I can totally relate to the loving receiving packages through the post. Used to have a very serious addiction to QVC. Didn't get into debt as such but it came to a head when MrM shamed me by totting up how much I had spent over a month with them once.

I am now happy that I only order things that I like without being conned into getting the next best thing. My particular downfall though is shower gels as I like to have a variety of them on the go at once to stop me getting bored.

I also fall hook line and sinker for every fake tan brand that claims to be 'streak free, not to stain bed sheets, no smell' etc etc. Hence, so many bottles (and many more in the fake tan graveyard), but I am never tanned!

Oh tell me about it. Those tubes of St Tropez that I bought from TK Max are awful. Emma likes them though so not a total waste. I ended up digging out an old tube of J Lo Glo Sexy Body this morning and still love this product. It made that windy noise though so there's not much product left. Pretty sure it's been discontinued.

I wish I handn't edited that post. Made me sound more exciting than I am !!

I love Royal Rajah Ruby. I'm wearing Deautshe You Want Me Baby at the mo but it's chipped really badly even though I only applied it on Tuesday night. Must repaint tonight.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
