Thanks willowbee. We have all decided to not let it drag us down and to live bigger and better lives in his honour :)

In beauty news, my sister in law is now doing Avon and I ordered 2 face creams for £3.50 (bargain) one anti ageing and one for spot prone skin. Plan on using the anti ageing around the eye area :D need to finish moisturiser I'm using first but that won't be long :)

  • Hi everybody

Please can I join the thread.

The amount of toiletries in my home is really starting to build up and I want to use up some products and get it under control.

Its a strange thing this attraction to smells and goo. I feel delighted when I buy the stuff and it arrives into my home. As I live in a rural location I will order online and have it delivered. Then, stranger still, I feel even better when I have used up a product and finally see the back of it!

I have not made a list of everything I have.

    Welcome!

I too, get that initial ''this is IT, the wonder product, I WILL have perfect skin/eyelashes/tan" etc etc, and then the novelty wears off and it gets stuck in a drawer and I go onto my next big miracle product. :rotfl:

And THEN, even stranger, is that if something smells VERY good (like a very good body product etc) then I don't want to use it and keep it for 'good'. :rotfl::rotfl:

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • Thank you hieveryone,

Its lovely to feel welcomed and even better that I am in a place where I can confess my little goo problem to others who can totally relate.

Imagine a 12 step recovery meeting which looks a bit like this.

My name is Kiss Prudence and I am a goo addict. My drug of choice is fancy smells and pretty boxes and little free gifts which I may not use anyway.

When I type it out like that I can see that things stashed away are not doing me any good at all. And I feel just a little bit nutty.

Its time for me to use up the stuff, onwards and upwards !!!!!!

Too true! I was watching a travel video about Korea on YouTube the other night. The girl was showing the toiletry stores and pointing out that they sell sachets of pretty much every product. I wish they did that here. Not only would I make less buying mistakes, but I would also get the buzz without landing myself with a bottle of something to use up.

I have just used up an Ange Ou Demon body lotion. I WNBA because it is a bit too intense as a body lotion.

    Welcome newbies!
kadison - the pain really isn't bad but if you're worried pop a painkiller an hour before. I'd vote for a Hollywood over a Brazilian though (if your salon does them) - I just find the "landing strip" really weird and kind of defeats the point?! But only my opinion :D Also, you'd be fine to gym afterwards, just probably best not to do straight away. I've gone swimming/gym/sunbathed less than 24 hours afterwards many times and never had a reaction.

I was told to definitely leave it 48 as it's my first wax in that area, I think I'd be ok but it's an excuse not to go to circuits on Friday morning! :D Or mow the lawn tonight :rotfl:

I got a sort of hybrid so have a triangle instead of a strip as I don't like those either but I wanted something more....ahem...thorough than a standard wax. It wasn't painful really, a couple of bits of skin hurt worse than others but generally it was nothing to getting lasered on my legs the other day  I wouldn't get a Hollywood as I wouldn't feel like a woman with EVERYTHING gone!

Good luck with the waxing kadison, hope it's pain free :D I've only been waxed once, on my legs, and I had SUCH a bad allergic reaction I woke up at 2am thinking my legs were on fire. I'm a bit of a sensitive soul though. DH has bought me an epilator for my birthday, as I said nothing says "I love you" like the pain of 40 pairs of tweezers working simultaneously :rotfl: I want it primarily for my legs as I shave them every. single. day and I'm sick of the permastubble, but I'm hoping I'll be brave enough to give it a go on my pits and bits too ;)

I've never had the courage to use one of those, I may have done if I hadn't had a lovely varicose vein for yonks and you can't use them over those.

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker Debt-free and Proud!
    Welcome newbies:)

I have sinned:eek: Went to Wilkos to see if there was something for my mum and they had their fruity and sweet ranges down to 50p and the facewipes that have recently gone up to nearly a quid a pack...so:

4 x skin wisdom face wipes
2 x Timotei vivid colour shampoos
    Fruity black cherry shower gel
Sweet vanilla and honey shower gel

In my defence the only things I have a big stash of is shower gel but they smelt nice and for 50p it felt wrong to say no....sculks off to the naughty step for the night:(
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • Hello all,

this is really a very friendly forum to be part of. I am learning a lot from you all and you all have definitely inspired me to sort out my stash. I lurked before I joined and read some of the past posts.

Yes buying mistakes are a problem, I am currently using a bottle of nivea cleanser and toner which I WNBA. The toner has alcohol in it which is drying my skin out.

I like the idea of samples for all products like in Korea to avoid buying mistakes.

My first UU is as follows:-

travel size 15ml oral B toothpaste free from my dentist which I took on holiday and finished at home tonight. Its a small insignificant UU but at least it is a start and getting me thinking in the right way.

You ladies are inspirational and I am happy I have joined. :)

My problem is that if I don't like something, I really resent using it LOL therefore, half bottles of things everywhere.

I also fall hook line and sinker for every fake tan brand that claims to be 'streak free, not to stain bed sheets, no smell' etc etc. Hence, so many bottles (and many more in the fake tan graveyard), but I am never tanned!
