I'll post for a few days, forget that I'm ill and overdo it or something will throw my list off and then I'll be gone for a while. I'm really trying to do my best to come straight back after any breaks, even though I feel embarrassed at having done so badly some days.
You're the one who said you were moving because of noisy neighbours, right? I totally sympathise, my lot are quite good with noise most of the time but I had some hellish ones at my last place.
What's the new place you're looking at now. Is it a house or a flat? If a flat, what floor's in on? Sorry, I'm a bit nosy.
Thanks for the reminder about not having to post every day. Posting on the thread helps in one way as I feel more accountable to complete things on the list. However I also feel it's like 'aaaaagh, my list is in the public domain, must complete all items, plus extra tasks or everyone will see how much I fail/procrastinate/can't be bothered.'
I want to move for several reasons. I currently live in a ground floor flat and have a dog and no garden. This place was the only one I could find that would accept a dog at short notice, after splitting from my partner. It is not very big and has absolutely no storage. From the upstairs flat you can hear them talking, playing music or video games and using the toilet! When upstairs decides to invite their friends round, it sounds like a herd of elephants walking about. I did live in a top floor flat several years back and preferred it to ground floor. The noise level is nowhere near as bad as your previous neighbours, although before I lived in a semi rural village, so I was used to it being fairly peaceful.
The house I am applying for is in a small town with lots of woods and country walks close by for the dog, but still only a few minutes walk to the high street, plus it is closer to my parents. The house also has a garden (yay!), so it would mean no more 11pm wee wee walks across the road from the flat!
I took the application fee and ID documents into the letting agency today, 3 days for credit check...

I've just got back from a lovely weekend away with my mum. We went shopping and then went to a Chinese buffet on Sat and went to a craft fair and then swimming on Sun. It was great to see her and I managed to get up there on just under 1/2 a tank of petrol. :j So I'll have to look into going again some time soon, maybe next month.Hello, I've been lurking around the threads this am...

Good luck with the move, I hope the credit check goes ok. And I honestly could've wrote your first paragraph myself, I feel awful when I've missed a day (or not completed everything), it makes it so much harder to come back because I feel like I've let everyone down. It's something that I'm really trying to work on though.

I'm going to try and get some sleep now even though downstairs haven't gone to bed yet, they're still playing a game (I think) but I've got an early start tomorrow. I've decided that I'm going to try buying some earplugs tomorrow. I tried them at the last place but they didn't work very well. They blocked out most of the noise but the noise there came with vibration and the slight movement with no noise to orientate it made me feel sick. But there's none of it here unless they slam a door so hopefully, it should work here. Like I said, they're not malicious, they're just stupid kids (yes, they're 18+ but I'll stop calling them kids when they learn they're not the centre of the universe. Which makes our downstairs neighbour a kid too and he's older than me!
) So maybe I'll be able to start sleeping when I want to, not when they go to bed.
My list for tomorrow:
Get £10 from cash machine.
[STRIKE]Aqua Aerobics - 9:30am.[/STRIKE] Slept in again.
[STRIKE]Buy earplugs.[/STRIKE] Done.
Buy Park and Ride pass.
[STRIKE]Meeting at Mind - 12pm.[/STRIKE] Done.
[STRIKE]Appointment at Apple store re voicemail problems - 1:10pm.[/STRIKE] Done.
[STRIKE]Set up Standing Order to MH.[/STRIKE] Done.
[STRIKE]Write letter to MH re standing order being set up and asking them to remove my phone number.[/STRIKE] Done.
[STRIKE]Post letter.[/STRIKE] Too late, will do tomorrow.
[STRIKE]Return library books.
[/STRIKE] Too late, will do Thurs when they reopen.

That was easily the best night's sleep I've had in ages! :jI woke up at some point in the middle of the night and pulled the earplugs out but it was quiet by then so it didn't matter. They didn't get a full test last night as it wasn't hugely noisy when I went to bed so hopefully, they'll work just as well when it actually is noisy. I should get a good test of them tonight though, what with all the fireworks!
As it's now November (), I'd better see about setting my mini goals for this month. So, these are the things that I want to have done by the 30th Nov.
