Oooooooooh, thank you very much CEW and NSK.

* Will work out the kinks on the budget as I have just spent an unauthorised £35 (I can explain it and will do so this afternoon).
* Have two social events this month but one is a must-go (uncle's wedding) and the other is a cheeky weekend away with the parents (in their car using their fuel with them buying us supper on the friday night). This weekend away also means we can get to asdamas and Aldeeeee which is somewhere we can't normally shop as they are both 20 miles away.
Away to go and work out the budgets as I have new saving schemes in place and owe the monthly pot from last month too. I hate it when last month still impacts on this one.

Was just looking through my bank statements and noticed an unauthorized renewal from Tastecard for the amount of £34.98 back in March. I was not impressed!
Called them and they are issuing a refund within 3-5 working days!
Job Done.
So you scrutinize your bank statement every month?? I think I will from now on.“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Hi Folks!
Good to be back on board again after a spendy few months! I seem to have 'feast or famine' patterns where I penny pinch for months on end and then go undoing it all my having a mega blow out! I need to go back to my old frugal ways and focus on saving the pennies :T
Have started the month with an NSD, meaning a necessary spend dayand paid out for fuel, a light bulb for the car and some food. I have also started the month with day 1 of Jiggle Free July! (thank you apple muncher!)

So... thought I should come back to explain my illegal spend.
When my granda died (about 14 years ago), I inherited his wardrobe and two chest of drawers for my room (they then moved with me into my first house).
Last month, we discovered the wardrobe had woodworm. Very gutted, I asked my dad to try and save it and we bought woodworm treatment stuff but it didn't work. We even kept it outside for two weeks with no success... so my dad made me throw it out. It was a hard thing to do, to be honest, get rid of it.
So today we walked to a local charity shop and bought an old-style wardrobe for £35. Delivery was going to be a tenner but they offered to help me put it in my car if I went and got it and it was only just along the road so they were very lovely and kind.
The weekend away is a trip up the road by about two hours to a lovely coastal village. Really surprising considering my brother and I suck at our finances but my parents have been brilliant with money and have saved and sacraficed so they could have a wee holiday home up on the coast.
So accomodation is free. My dad is taking his car so we don't have to buy fuel which makes that free. They are taking us out for supper on the Friday so that's free. So the only thing we should be spending money on is our shopping on Saturday.
So... as a result of buying the wardrobe, I have had to rethink the budgets.
Initial Budget: £400
Savings (pots and hidden): £261.
Illegal Spends: £35.
Fuel: £30
Food: £80
Food budget has had to be cut quite drastically. Was supposed to be £120 reduced to £100 due to the challenge but we are now going to have to "tighten our belts" a bit more.
:undecided
Here we go... Deep breath and let's take the plunge.
