I've wondered about a silk duvet, but thought it might feel too light when I do like a decent bit of weight on me. What do you think?
    :(

I'm upstairs now and I have got under the duvet to evaluate.

Its heavier than than really good down. ( that's my one gripe actually, I love that feeling of having nothing above one but soft light warmth)

If it were too light, you could put a bed spread on top? ( which would suit the look of them perfectly IMO)

We have really amazingly elegant cream bedspreads I cannot stand because while I can sleep under five duvets these bedspreads are too heavy! :rotfl:

Had a panic yesterday. Got in the shower and the water was hot but the pressure very weak. I couldn't work out what would cause a drop in pressure but would still let the boiler function.

Turned out to be a burst water main in the area.

  • Do many people do shoots? That's a posh alert isn't it.....
    :)

I've never been to a shoot, never been aware of them, never known anybody to go, never heard anybody speaking about them.... only ever seen them on the telly programmes.

My parents' neighbours do them and breed pheasants for them. Dad won't allow shooting on his land (or beating birds off his land, either) and they do ask him quite a bit - or ask my sisters to ask him, which annoys him much more.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

    Good for your dad. :)

One of our old vets lived and practised in a valley she owned the land in and was the same, but trying to get to her in an emergency was a nightmare. Some busy bird told all the pheasants, and they filled the roads often. :). Still, was glorious to see.

Feeling down right grim this afternoon. Never mind.

Off to doctor shortly for a long consult. Have weirdo spot on my face that I'm worried about, need to be seen before they can give me another Vit D prescription, and think they'll want to get cholesterol checked again. Also I'm hoping to have time to query my ME/CFS diagnosis. While I have some of the constellation of symtoms, my upper body strength is fine - can dig for ages at the lottie provided I'm sat down. But can hardly stand - legs just start shaking, plus walking is getting worse - some days can barely walk at all, and even have to use walkng stick in house. Please wish me luck as it's a doc haven't seeen before. :)
