I read that as Achilles at first!

    No Achilles. Only one Spartucus.

Westie is now sprawled out on the floor having a nap :)

Have you taken the Mini to Rybrook somewhere near the parents?

I'm being driven to distraction by two rattles. I considered taking mine to a dealer today now that I've identified where they come from.

    Service + MOT
    Brake Pads
    2 x new tyres
    Rear wheel alignment

I managed to negotiate the price down a bit. It's still rather a lot of money. I'm trying to think of it in terms of £ per month since I last splashed out on the car. And it'll get a wash and a clean inside.

I've also pointed out there are a couple of stone chips to the bonnet paintrwork, and a bit of a dent at the back (I think someone must have gone into the car in a car park as I definitely don't remember doing anything that would have caused it).

On the plus side, I've learnt how to open the car windows using the key fob from the outside of the car!

A very cute Westie has just been brought into the showroom by its owner too :)

It could be a lot worse. In the end, the tyre the RAC wanted to sell me for £175, I got from etyres for under £115. So, there seems to be plenty of negotiability on tyres. It might be worth checking the cost of the tyres online and then discussing again with the garage. If you post the tyre brand etc plus exact size of tyre, somebody here can check it for you. I am just going out but can do it when I get back.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

One repair I did myself cost me minus 20p. The garage had estimated £100 just to investigate. The seat made a very, very nasty sound when it went backwards and forwards. I investigated myself, and removed the 20p coin caught in the track that was causing the problem.

    How much is ouch precisely?

4x brake pad change and align is about 20 mins work. Parts cost? Tenner perhaps (Google it)

2xnew tyres cost what they cost.

Alignment? Thrown in with the tyres.

I am almost certain that is one of my rattles! I can't reach it though.

My product of the decade is Autoglym Intensive tar remover. I've just used it to clean the inside of my oven door in a minute flat. It also removes the sticky residue left behind by stickers. I don't think I've actually used it to clean the car.

Now I can't work out how to take the oven door apart to get in the gap bwetween the two panes. Cousin won't pick up phone. This is Important!

That's why I listed possible costs.

There's going to be a very sorry garage that does this to The Girl in a decade.
