"isn't there some building reg that'd stop water/cooker being so close"? On the other hand I've seen smaller with water/electricity close by. Maybe nobody checks even if there is a rule.... if somebody takes a kitchen out and moves stuff around, who would check.... probably nobody.
But ... here it is, any rules?

I know the area as it's not that far from me. Loads of bedsits in the road and some are fairly grim.I wouldn't want to live there, you could end up with a drug dealer next door!0 -
p.s. nice to see you around again viva. Hope you've been busy doing something fun.
Thanks Nikks, I have. I crossed the Atlantic by ship. I could have bought a satellite internet package but it was blooming expensive so decided to forego. At the places we stopped off, we went out in 4x4s with local drivers, hence reference to doing checks for Hamish as we did a lot of offroading up volcanoes etc... as I said, Patrol and Landcruiser did best. Conditions were dry though.
It's the fourth time I've done it using different routes and once again the weather was great. There was a tropical system that developed into a hurricane just ahead of us and it took all of the energy out out of the weather system meaning it was pretty smooth and good weather all the way for us.
Now it's back to a huge wall of work and reality though. Still, at least I'm feeling relaxed about it.. for the moment. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Yeah, those "kitchen on a trolley" - I think Ikea made some of those. Sometimes seen on HutH when a studio room with a ladder to the bedlet over the door is sold for just £240k ... and the buyer didn't actually see inside the cupboard before he bought it at auctionlostinrates wrote: »
Nonres p is under offer again and has seen a house uncomfortably close. Looks like it might all be good to go. Going to tell the dogs soon non RP is coming to see them and watch them go berserk. Slightly takes the edge of them when nrp arrives if I spoil their surprise. Kiwi bounces right up to nrp's face with glee. Grandparents with treats in their pockets rule, even if you are canine apparently.
How close is "uncomfortably"?0 -

I'm not sure how the stopping off in the middle of the Atlantic works with driving 4x4s, but I'm glad you've been on a (good) adventure
(sorry, I'm in a cheeky/ flippant mood today)
More seriously - sounds amazing. What a great thing to do.
Chewie - interesting job news. Perhaps it's a sign that the public sector flexible working might be all the best for the next year or so at least?0 -

Ha ha ha (can't do smilies on tablet). We left from Barcelona and stopped in southern Spain and the Canaries before crossing and stopping off at some Caribbean islands, finishing in Puerto Rico. I'd love to say that the best 4x4 trip was on the lost island of Atlantis, but I can't...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Agents indicated £475-525/month for rental..... but that could be tosh for all I know.
Just looked up LHA, it's £134/week, £580/month there.0 -

Chewie, is the reason you plan to move that the travel is getting to you or you want a change of scenery? Well, I started off with looking for the three extension leads required. Then joined them all together and wrapped carrier bags round the joins as the grass was wet. Found the ELCB socket..... You'd have done the complete job in that time.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
