So we go through to the nationals next year, but Midlands Bathroom Renovation of the Year is pretty good
Good work! One of my friends won the whole thing a couple of years ago- solid Old Swinford stock as well!0 -
For founds someone's phone yesterday and went through the contacts till someone answered and said they could contact the owner.
He told the owner he'd leave it at reception for her. She ( and her friend) were amazed it was being returned. He made it clear when she said she owed him some thing that she really didn't, but that her phone was very low on battery and it would need charging as would run out but he REALLY neither expected nor wanted anything.
He just got an email from the building manager saying that a bottle of wine has been left for him. Its sweet that people are still kind.0 -

I expect that's what the phone's owner was thinking too0 -

Time was when most people would do the right thing, without thinking it was the right thing, just "the thing" and the only thing.0 -

Great news Hamish!
Aye, that it is.
All over Scotland today, managers in dozens of companies are proceeding with hundreds of millions of pounds worth of investment and job creation instead of implementing contingency plans which called for immediate retrenchment and mass layoffs.
There was so much on the line with this, across most industries and sectors.
People's businesses, jobs, careers, houses, savings, etc.
That's what yes voters simply could not understand, and probably never will....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Perhaps you have an opening for those who have lost their jobs recently like that nice Mr Salmond?
I think to celebrate perhaps you could start a thread on the BBC piece on rents rising faster than inflation?I think....0 -

The private sector tends not to hire people with poor commercial awareness and flawed judgement.I think to celebrate perhaps you could start a thread on the BBC piece on rents rising faster than inflation?
Nah..... I'll wait a while before going back to the recently ignored good news of rising house prices, falling unemployment, low inflation, etc.
This is a time to be thankful my fellow Scots had the good sense to see through the lies and deception of the Yes campaign, and to reflect upon the bright future awaiting us all, once things calm down.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I hadn't realised how good cats are at risk assessment. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Thing is, the vote is over. A colective decision has been made.
Everyone has to get on with working together again (whether they voted yes or no, or didn't get a vote). I'm slightly concerned that the 'no' crew aren't going to let the 'yes' lot forget that 'they were right' etc etc. And we're not actually going to focus on working together.
Anyhow. Great news re your plans. I bet you're feeling a lot more relaxed tonight!0
