If you are unsure which compartment to put the powder in, or think it is not taking the powder, easiest solution is to buy the stuff that you add to the drum.

Also benefits in that the powder draw doesn't get gunked up.

    Buy one of these; http://www.tots100.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/persil.jpg

because that little thing in the middle is the container for the liquid that you put on top of the clothes inside the machine.

That comes under the rule: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :)

They fiddled with the wrong ones - the other side was sometimes broke, this one wasn't, but it was so noisy (the DJ was close by) that it wasn't easy to make yourself heard!

While I was out today, there was a stall with garden ornaments. The woman said "my husband makes them". There were some which looked good .... and there were some that were just "wrong" (e.g. a white-based garden gnome that'd been painted. The coloured ones were regular.... the painted ones very child-like/poor.

It's as if he started by buying professional/proper moulds, then had a go himself :)

I used to have a ball... seem to have lost it along the way in the last 7 years..... I think, today, for some bizarre reason (early dementia?) I just used the wrong drawer.

We're re arranging food and I'm getting tired.

    This is how I sound,

'No. Thas bouks abat fud nut abat booking. '.

Fir thinks as well as getting tired and struggling with words sometimes I should stop reading Scottish threads.

    Sigh.

    We were rearranging COOK BOOKS.

I often 'read a meal' but to mistake fookbooks ( sigh, too funny to change) cook books, for food, is a sad state of afdairs. Oh dear.

Not my day. :rotfl: I've given up now any way, fir and I have really different ways of organising and he wins by virtue go energy.

If it took the powder too late it sounds like it thought it was softener and took it in the rinse part of the programme = wrong slot. WE just put the powder in the machine with the clothes as we don't prewash and it saves the drawer getting gunked up, don't even have a dosing ball.

The excessive shaking is usually wither because there are only one/a few heavy objects (when wet) so the drum is not balanced when it is spinning (or possibly more likely) the machine is not level. The feet all adjust by screwing in and out so that you can get the machine level whether or not your floor is....

We spin at 1600 and only get vibration if the drum is unbalanced say with a couple of heavy towels. The machine also detects this condition and slows down to allow the load to hopefully arrange itself better before speeding up again but perhaps yours doesn't do that.

The weather seems a lot less fine than forecast, I may even get out of cutting the grass.
    I think....

I cut most of the grass because I have guests coming this week......but didn't finish the front. Then where I had finished odd loads of weeding and made a mess where t looked all lovely and soft.

I also ran over a bit of hose , ooops.

Putting powder in the drum works does it?

RP forgets and puts powder in wrong drawer. I often have to prewash clothes. I've been experimenting with vinegar as a softener ( from old style board) recently too.

    Thanks for all the confirmations.

Machine's about as level as it'll get ..... the man who pulled it out and cut up/put some wood on the floor where there weren't tiles/backing ply struggled to get it in position due to weight - and made a small comment about it being difficult to manoevre... so I stand no chance. Where it was before, on vinyl, I could pull it in/out on my own without any trouble. It's just not good on tiles ... and the other assortment of flooring that's now at the back.

It'll go down at the bottom of the list for "little man" in case I've a 10 minute slot of jobs that needs filling to make a "full day's work".

I'd put £1 down to say that the cycling forum here would say: Don't ever let Halfords touch it :)

I probably need a carer twice a week for two hours - who will sit with me while I use the cooker and the washing machine :)

Maybe I should find some friends, then start hosting a tea/cake session .... and sneakily run the washing machine while they're round :)
