Eating pies creates twins?0 -
I put the rock lamp on at 7.30 for Spirit ... but didn't go out and do the candles as it's a bit nippier out there - and breezy, so they'd have blown out.
Solar lights look lovely on the windowsill though - they last ages after they come on!0 -

Mrs Chewy had cod and chips so that is more likely to be the cause.0 -

I did get some better news...after a horrid miscarriage and subsequent surgery during the week we exchanged on the house and spending most of the last 12 weeks with OH in pieces every 5 minutes as she was convinced she was miscarrying again (for pretty good reason), we had our 12 week scan today.
Everything is fine, lowest possible statistical risk of downs and it all looks good and this is obviously all down to the NP good vibes. Just stuffed myself with pie and chips to celebrate.
Sorry to hear about the miscarriage. I rather put my foot in it yesterday, didn't I? Terribly sorry about that. But very, very pleased to hear all is going well this time.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

O...M...G (as I wouldn't possibly say)
Many congratulations to Mrs C.
Miss s are horrible but despite having a couple DW and I seem to have done very well and it seems it has no bearing on success once things stick properly.
So my random multi-quoting yesterday wasn't as random after all.
Just wondering if it might be a good moment to be in govt employment rather than the private sector when babies arrive in terms of leave entitlement etc?I think....0 -

Or better to be in the banking sector, so as to be able to afford enormous amounts of paid help? It's a tough one to call.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Well yes, I do really need to think about whether to move. I had no idea it was twins when I went to the first interview and no idea she was pregnant when I first applied.
I have to weigh up whether the amount of paternity leave, holiday, work flexibility etc is more important than a 40-50% payrise.
If I stay where I am I could work to rule, possibly go down to a 4 day week and generally take the p (although that would likely result in my overall pay reducing by 10% or so). If I move it will probably be quite hard work although either way OH is likely to go to Oz for 2-3 months with the babies so that needs to be factored in too (I could get a career break and go with her but then who would pay the mortgage).
It's a tricky one - will have to wait and see what the money is like, what hours they expect and whether OH wants to return to work after mat leave. At least it's not an American bank - I wouldn't even consider that in this situation.
One of the main problems for me is that I have become fed up of my employer for a number of reasons and made the decision to leave. In my head I have already started to check out so will be difficult to reverse that and stay.0
