I was watching the Educating the East End programme - I think they've tried to show a different sort of school culture this time round, with a predominantly female senior team. Will be interested to see how the rest of the series goes, but I enjoyed tonight's episode.

Gah. Wanted to watch and missed it!

I bought a book about procrastinating. As if the irony weren't thick enough that I bought about procrastinating that in essence allows me to procrastinate, I was enjoying it until page 13 (an hour ago) when I picked up my phone to look at everything ever.

Don't talk about shelves. There is a lot of touching wood going on here ATM.

The study is currently furnished with that plastic clic shelving people use in garages or garden sheds. ( charming, huh? ) and its buckling under the weight of books, books and more books.

The new wood man in Doozerville is in fact a cabinet maker. :)

My lovely wood man has mental health problems sometimes. I love him to pieces but it seems he's having a phase. I texted him to say happy 1st wedding anniversary, but no reply :(

Channel four , um, educating the east end?

Not as good as educating Yorkshire IMO.

a year ago I was camping in a field on the IoW. I had to turn in my phone every now and again to check for voicemails as I was pushing for an exchange date for my house.

It feels good to be fully awake, truly sort of ...awake, and me.

But, why at just after midnight?

My dogs were very naughty tonight on our late walk and the girls took off up the road......must have seen something, not sure what. We have to sort out these night time collars. :( very unlike them, and I wasn't sure if shorty pants had gone with them ( thankfully he hadn't , we caught up with him over in the field, he'd gone straight under the gate ages before and missed the drama)

Its bizarrely warm here this evening. I went for my late dog walk in, um, a short and vest pj set and dressing gown, and ended up carrying the dressing gown. Its really incredibly warm, but it was cool enough through the day. Could be my personal thermostat , I didn't check the themometre, but I wore a thick felt cardi/jacket with jeans this afternoon and a pashmina, and then wandered around the fields in a vest and shorts tonight.
  • It feels boiling here, too, LIR.

Main difference seems to me that the head is inexperienced - only been in post 18 months and this is her first headship - and tonight's episode's featured teacher is also inexperienced - only 18 months in the classroom.

I too enjoyed this episode and am looking forward to the rest of the series. :)
( I am really surprised with the level of pastoral care tbh)

    What surprises you about it?

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Been in complete denial about this portfolio. Going to be a late one, and then I'm going to hit the library early tomorrow.

Still, in 24 hours it will be done and I'll be mildly squiffy.

Deadline is 4 tomorrow. But I need to print it and hand it in, so 3.30 really is when it needs to be done by.
