    Thanks :)

Which of us is the one in the front of the pic smiling until squished up against all the others????

PN - very happy to be part of the nice people, but a little wary of being hugged in her personal space by us all together. At least that's what I imagine.

I'd put money on it being PN :)

Pn is actually taking a photo of us all group hugging. ;). She doesn't do touch. I reckon the squashed one is chewy.

With the new guidelines on having 30g of fibre a day, I thought that I had better increase my fibre intake pretty drastically. Bran contains lots of fibre, I remembered, so bran I had. Lots of it! However, I have discovered that, if you are not used to it, bran has an interesting effect on your insides, and lots of bran has lots of interesting effects. (I will spare you the details.) Hopefully, it will wear off after a couple of days. :o

This thread reminds me of the Letter From a Mother to Her Son:

Dear Son ... you won't recognise the house when you visit, we've moved.

For me, stress is when you have no control over the outcome. Pressure is when you do.

That's a good way of putting it, thanks Gen.

I know when I'm stressed because I start having nightmares about slalom skiing and I can't stop my skis and keep going faster and faster. They are my early warning system.

Pleased you are looking after yourself, Lydia. It's not trivial at all.

    Exactly this.
Hope it gives you the boost you're after Lydia.

    Oh wow
I think I was in your part of town today, GDB. I was going to send you a pm to see if you were free for a quick drink after my day had finished... but the forum started playing up on my phone. And I couldn't keep my eyes open this afternoon. So I thought it was best just to head back here.

Hope your insides get used to their increased fibre intake soon!

Yes, next time I'll be more organised and plan ahead.
I'd ummed and ahhed this morning about sending you a pm (I'd had a rather early start for me so wasn't sure about staying on), but after I'd decided to go for it (I'd hope any NP who found themselves around here would give me a shout) I couldn't get the MSE site to load.
Then all the trains up here were delayed anyway :( And I had almost no battery left on my phone :(

On the upside - it's a good job I took my jacket with me... I felt a bit silly when it was lovely and sunny this morning (doesn't look like it's been raining up here... which reminds me I'd better go out and do the watering before I nod off on the sofa!).

I've got a lavender hedge in my front garden which I grew from seed 4 years ago. It's English lavender, probably 'hidcote'. I confess I didn't prune it quite as hard (or regularly) as is recommended, so it's rather big now - starting to fall over so you can see the wood at the bottom - and may need to be replaced at the end of next year.

It does look lovely, though, and the smell in the morning when I wheel my bike over the flowers at the edge of the front of the hedge, is lovely.

Just watching Tsonga and Djokovic at Wimbledon. A match of big hitters / servers so a little dull. Just realised they've whipped through 2 sets without me noticing.
